Following the launch of Season of the Seraph, Bungie launches the next seasonal event in Destiny 2, bringing back the winter celebration known as The Dawning. As a live service title, Destiny 2 is always changing and evolving, whether that's with new content from an expansion or season, through hot fixes and updates, or due to limited time events like Iron Banner. Ultimately, these additions are aimed at keeping the core experience of Destiny 2 feeling fresh, inviting players to not only come back, but to continue logging in.

Calendar watchers can also look forward to various annual events that happen at specific times of the year. In fact, those who manage to participate in each of the core four events of Guardian Games, Solstice, Festival of the Lost, and The Dawning can even get their hands on a new title that Bungie created this year known as Reveler. The latest chance to progress that title has finally arrived as the Winter and Holiday celebration known as The Dawning has returned to Destiny 2.

As narrated by Eva Levante, an NPC that the Destiny 2 community has loving dubbed as "Space Grandma," The Dawning once again brings back snowballs to launch at friends and enemies alike as well as baking cookies to give out to each of the various NPCs. Players will need to gather ingredients by using different weapons, elemental attacks, and defeating various enemy types, then baking them with specific recipes. Players can get started later today after the weekly reset and take part until it ends on January 2.

Of course, the Destiny 2 event brings with it plenty of new weapons, items, and cosmetics as well. The trailer shows of the new legendary pulse rifle known as Stay Frosty PR7 as well as various items which are for sale at Tess Everis' shop, the Eververse store. Similar to past events this year, The Dawning also comes with its own event card that can be completed either through the free track, or purchased to unlock a premium track of items as well. Finally, players who finish the Dawning Seal of challenges will unlock the Star Baker title to display.

Although it's only been a week since Season of the Seraph launched in Destiny 2, it's been a busy one so far for players. Not only with the first wave of content including Heist Battleground missions, but the latest dungeon known as the Spire of the Watcher launched a few days ago as well. On top of all that, the annual Moments of Triumph also arrived, letting players work on a checklist of challenges for content that arrived throughout 2022 to unlock new goodies and the MMXXII title.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
