Destiny 2's Dawning event is here for the next few weeks, and players who want to max out their rewards should aim at completing both of the new quests introduced this year. One of them is The Pigeon Provides, which will award players with the new sword Zephyr upon completion, as well as a unique Dawning-themed Shader. The other quest is Rite of Dawning, which can be completed following this step-by-step guide.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 1
The first step requires Destiny 2 players to pick up the quest from Eva Levante's menu in The Tower, which can only be done during The Dawning.
The second task is equally easy, as players will have to speak to Zavala in The Tower, who will give them a new assignment.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 2
The second step of the quest takes players to Firebase Hades in the EDZ. This is a good time to stop by Xur near the Winding Cove drop point if he happens to be there for the weekend. Just outside of Firebase Hades, players will find a quest pointer that will lead them to the festive recipe they have to retrieve.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 3
The third step of the quest is about completing the Pathfinder's Crash Lost Sector, which is conveniently located near Firebase Hades.
ere, players will have to retrieve the Ceremonial Cup from the Lost Sector's final chest, and also obtain Ritual Schematics from any defeated Cabal.
The Cabal enemies present in the Lost Sector might provide fewer Ritual Schematics than needed, but any Cabal kill in the EDZ will award more.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 4
The fourth step of the quest requires Destiny 2 players to jump into the Arms Dealer Strike in the EDZ in order to recover Torobatl Cerimonial Vestments from the final chest.
The Strike is fairly easy to complete, and players can launch it from the EDZ itself. For players who might struggle with the Strike, there is a way to cheese the last encounter in the Arms Dealer.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 5
The fift step of the quest requires players to bake Dark Chocolate Motes, one of The Dawning's many treats.
These are particularly liked by the Drifter, and players need to craft three of them, for which the cost will be 3 Taken Butter, 3 Null Taste, and 45 Dawning Essence (or 30, for those players who have already Masterworked Eva's Holiday Oven 2.1).
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 6
The sixth step of the quest is about convincing the Drifter to part with his bottle of Torobatlian Red, which is done automatically once the Dark Chocolate Motes are finally delivered to him. Players have to take the item from the Drifter's updated menu, which will complete this quest step.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 7
For step seven, players should head back to Zavala and inform him of their successes thus far. Zavala will have one more task for players to complete, and he will reward them with the Dawning-exclusive Malibeaux Bronze Shader.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 8
The eighth step of the quest requires players to complete the Proving Grounds Strike from Season of the Chosen, which is found on Nessus through the Map directory.
Much like for the Arms Dealer Strike, Destiny 2 players can cheese the first Proving Grounds boss as well, which can help beat the Strike in the long run.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 9
For this step, players need to go back to Zavala in The Tower and speak with him. He will then share the final step of the quest.
Rite of Dawning Quest - Step 10
To conclude the quest, Destiny 2 players will have to head back to Eva Levante, who will provide them with the From the Ashes emblem.
Concluding this quest will also allow players to claim the Vapoorwill Spin Exotic ship if they also completed The Pigeon Provides quest.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
