Bungie has confirmed that a new Crucible mode, which lets players use their Sparrow in PvP, will be added to Destiny 2 later this month. During Season of the Witch, Destiny 2 players discovered a neat bug on the Multiplex map, which allowed them to ride on their Sparrow to travel around faster than usual. This unintended bug plunged the map into chaos, as many utilized their vehicle to catch enemies off guard. Some got trolled by their teammates who crashed the vehicle into a wall, while others joined illegitimate races through enemy territory.

Destiny 2's Season of the Witch will soon bring a lot of fresh content, ranging from competitive rewards and permanent game modes to weapons. It was revealed in a recent blog post that the Crucible playlist will have 3v3 quickplay and a 6v6 unranked node that will rotate with different variations. The long-awaited Citadel map will return in season 23 alongside old competitive rewards, including the Rose Hand Cannon. Moreover, Destiny 2 players will obtain a new Ritual weapon called Chivalric Fire, which offers a unique perk that creates Orbs of Power upon dealing sustained damage.

Bungie Issues Statement on Destiny 2's Future After Layoffs

Bungie addresses its recent layoffs and provides some insight into its plans for Destiny 2 going forward, while acknowledging its recent slump.

Bungie has revealed via a blog post that an in-game mode that allows players to ride on their Sparrow in PvP matches will be added to Destiny 2 in season 23. The upcoming mode will be available in select weeks as part of the Control playlist and feature a new medal. Besides, Bungie pointed out that it will have a curated selection of larger maps, where players can summon their vehicle for the entire match. It's safe to assume that this permanent mode, Sparrow Control, is to please the Destiny 2 community, which asked the developers not to fix a funny Crucible bug discovered back in September.

Destiny 2 Will Add Sparrow Control Mode

Sparrows in Destiny 2 are distinctive hoverbikes players can use to travel around the game's explorable areas quickly. Each land-based vehicle has its own unique design, color scheme, and perks that set it apart from others. One thing to note is that Sparrows are built for speed rather than combat, meaning players can only use them for traversal purposes.

Aside from Sparrow Control, Destiny 2's Season of the Witch will add new variations to the Checkmate game mode, such as 3v3 Clash and Checkmate Dominion. It will also make spawn modifications for some Crucible maps, such as Midtown, Endless Vale, and Meltdown, to improve the player's experience. All the new content coming to the game with Season of the Witch will be available on November 28.
