While Destiny 2's raid releases and the completion frenzy surrounding them are hardly a new concept at this point, pulling off a flawless, glitch-free release is all but impossible nowadays, considering the various new features and mechanics that come with each new raid. Bungie's Witch Queen raid seems to be suffering from a variety of connectivity problems.These issues left Bungie in a conundrum on whether it should extend the Destiny 2's Vow of the Disciple Contest Mode or not, which is an unprecedented move for raid releases and surrounding festivities. Namely, the Vow of the Disciple Contest Mode will remain enabled for an extra 24 hours, allowing competing players to get a few more tries in before March 7th, at 10 AM PDT / 6 PM UTC, with the caveat that they'll be awarded the day 1 completion emblem, The Cleaver, at a later date.

Though a six-man fireteam has already managed to complete The Vow of the Disciple raid in full, winning the world's first raid belt and other Destiny 2Witch Queen raid rewards, anybody who finishes the raid during the extended Contest Mode event will get a number of digital goodies all the same, such as the aforementioned emblem. Coincidentally, this does also mean that players hoping to play the regular mode Vow of the Disciple will need to wait a little longer.

With over 350,000 Twitch viewers watching Destiny 2 at the time of the Vow of the Disciple raid race, it's clear that there was plenty of excitement in the community about this particular event. Even those players who aren't interested in Contest Mode or the raid itself may have been intrigued by new lore or the new quests that opened up following the first raid completion.

As players hoping to unlock the special limited-time Emblem and other achievements set things up for another go at The Vow of the Disciple raid, loremasters, in particular, have got a lot of stuff to unpack now that most of the Witch Queen's content has been made available. Major implications await in item descriptions and lore books, including the truth about Destiny 2's Collapse.
