How To Obtain Conditional Finality

Nezarec Fully Resurrected In The Root Of Nightmares Raid

For the short and sweet answer, the Conditional Finality Exotic Shotgun can only be obtained by defeating the final boss of the Root of Nightmares raid: Nezarec, the Final God of Pain. However, players will only have a 3% chance per character weekly to earn the gun. This means that on each character a player possesses, they'll have one chance at obtaining the Shotgun: a 3% chance.

For those who raid often, this isn't a terrible chance, since the likelihood of the player earning the weapon after each loot clears. However, for those who aren't able to raid as often, this gives them a meager chance of obtaining the Shotgun. That said, there are ways to increase players' chances of having the Exotic drop for them.

In the Root of Nightmares raid seal, Dream Warrior, on the Journey tab, are triumphs linked with the raid. Completing these triumphs will grant the player increased chances of earning Conditional Finality. These tasks range from completing the raid with a full fireteam of a specific class or five other members of the player's clan, for example. Completing all the triumphs that grant increased chances for the Exotic will give the Guardian a 30% chance of obtaining the weapon on the next looted clear.

How Conditional Finality Works

Destiny 2-Conditional Finality Exotic Shotgun

With the Shotgun acquired, it's time to discuss how it works. The weapon is unlike anything the franchise has ever seen before. For starters, it is a Stasis and Solar weapon, but it fires one shot at a time with two in the mag. The first shot deals Stasis damage, and the second deals Solar. The Exotic perk states, "Landing nearly all Stasis pellets will freeze targets; landing nearly all Solar pellets will ignite targets."

This takes the weapon to a new level, as it is a two-in-one weapon dealing with multiple elemental damages quickly. On top of that, thanks to the changes made with the Lightfall DLC, freezing or igniting enemies also work against Champions. Thus, Conditional Finality is far and away the best weapon to use against Unstoppable and Anti-Barrier Champions. Overloads will still be an issue for the gun. Overall, Conditional Finality is one of the best raid Exotic weapons the game has seen in a long time.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
