Guardians in Destiny 2 are making their way through the Vex Network in an attempt to put an end to the Endless Night that currently plagues the Last City. With the help of Mithrax and his knowledge as a Sacred Splicer, Destiny 2’s Guardians hope to let the sunshine light up the Last City once more.

Vex Networks are in multiple locations in Destiny 2 and so far, Guardians have made their way through one location and defeated the boss protecting the Network. This week, Guardians venture to the Moon in an attempt to splice into the Vex Network, but some Guardians may need to know how to complete this Moon Override mission.

Largely, this Destiny 2 Override is the same as the one on Europa, however, Guardians will need to bring Anti-Barrier and Unstoppable mods for the Champions in this Override location. Other active modifiers are Martyr and Fire Pit, giving exploding units more health and causing Acolytes to spawn pools of fire when defeated.

destiny 2 week 2 challenges guardians fighting vex champion in override

The first half of the Moon Override Mission is like the Destiny 2 Europa Override; defeat enemies, collect motes, bank motes in the spire. Guardians should be familiar with this process by now and able to complete this part easily.

Once the Vex Network is open, Guardians will encounter a jumping puzzle, just like in the Europa Override last week in Destiny 2. Once Guardians complete the jumping puzzle they will encounter a new Destiny 2 boss, Portunos, Subjugated Mind. Thankfully this new Vex boss is not another Wyvern.

Portunos is an oversized Vex Minotaur that has slightly different mechanics than Europa's Subjugated Mind, Tacitas. Like Tacitas, Portunos has three sections in its health bar and each break triggers its mechanic. Portunos will teleport the Guardian into a different part of the Vex Network.

When teleported, Guardians will have to complete a small jumping puzzle, blocked off by white Vex barriers, and locate the square Vex cubes and shoot them down, disabling the barrier. In this small jumping puzzle Guardians will encounter a Scytale that will need to be defeated before bringing down the next barrier. The teleport mechanic is reminiscent of Atheon's teleport mechanic in the Vault of Glass Raid.

Once the Scytale is defeated, bring down the barrier, pick up the Data Spike, head through the portal, and deposit the Data Spike in the Vex spire. Continue damaging Portunos until the next break in its health bar when it teleports the player again. Guardians will be teleported away twice in this boss fight before they can defeat the Subjugated Mind, Portunos.

There will be another Destiny 2 Override next week on the Tangled Shore, so Guardians should expect another Subjugated Mind for that location. The new Destiny 2 Weekly Pinnacle Mission will also arrive next week, giving Guardians even more things to do.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
