As Destiny 2 players participate in the game's current Halloween-themed live event, Festival of the Lost, they will earn Candy and Chocolate Strange Coins. With those currencies, players can purchase the event masks from Eva Levante and the Braytech Werewolf auto rifle. Players can also buy Epic Mystery Grab Bags from Eva Levante, which give a Legendary world drop and an Enhancement Core.

Of course, when there is something to collect in Destiny 2, especially during a limited-time event, the question becomes how to farm Chocolate Strange Coins and Candy. The good news is, there are numerous ways to earn these currencies during Festival of the Lost, and the extent to which players will want to go to get them will be dependent on what they want.

First off, virtually every activity in the game will drop Candy and Chocolate Strange Coins, from killing enemies, defeating Guardians, completing Crucible matches and strikes, doing Patrols, completing the new Altar of Sorrows public event, and more. All players have to do is have the Masquerader's Helmet equipped and to play the game. While playing with the helmet equipped, these items will drop pretty regularly. If players want to take a more passive approach, slowly racking up Candy and Coins to buy the masks and the auto rifle by the event's end on November 19th, they should have no problem amassing enough through regular play over the next few weeks.

If players are trying to maximize their gains through more effort, the most efficient way appears to be by playing the Haunted Forest activity. This drops Candy throughout, there are hidden chests within the branches that contain Chocolate Strange Coins, and the final chest will drop a lot of Coins increasing with the more branches that are cleared. If players are willing to put in the effort, this will be the highest yield of currencies for Festival of the Lost.

Interestingly, the Black Armory Forge cheese that could be used to farm other materials in the past, which was supposedly patched, can still be done to gain Candy even without technically playing the game. But to be honest, with the goal really being to collect 150 Chocolate Strange Coins in order to get all five masks and 1,000 Candy for the auto rifle, there is virtually no reason to farm an insane amount of these currencies. A normal amount of play over the course of the three-week event should be enough to get enough currencies to get the masks, auto rifle, and complete the Triumphs.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
