Bungie is notoriously proactive when it comes to charitable efforts. So much so that the Bungie Foundation was founded in 2011, a nonprofit wing of Bungie, to "give back."  The latest project from the Bungie Foundation is raising funds for the Equal Justice Initiative in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Today, orders opened for a limited edition pin and Destiny 2 emblem, of which all profits will be donated to the EJI.

Bungie's new pin features the symbol of the Black Lives Matter movement, an upraised fist, holding a lightning bolt. Beneath it, there's a banner reading "Black Lives Matter" and it's laid out on a black shield with yellow detailing. The mixing of the Black Lives Matter symbol with the lightning bolt gives the pin a bit of Destiny 2 Titan flair.

The Bungie Black Lives Matter pin can be officially purchased from the Bungie Store for $14.99. Since Bungie is hurrying to make this pin available, to ensure that proceeds get to the EJI in a reasonable time, that also means that the actual pins are going to take some time to be produced. Bungie estimates that the pins will ultimately ship 3-4 months after orders are placed.

But the pins aren't all that buyers will receive with their purchase. A Destiny 2 in-game version of the pin will be given to purchasers via email within 24 hours after the order is placed. The emblem will match the pin, with some background artwork that mirrors the design of the pin itself. It's a way for Destiny 2 players to proudly show their support of the Black Lives Matter movement, while also showing that they've supported the movement monetarily.

Regarding the nonprofit to which the Destiny 2 pin's proceeds will go to, the Equal Justice Initiative is "committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States." It also focuses on "challenging racial and economic injustice."  One of the EIJ's largest projects is the Community Remembrance Project, which produces research and public education materials regarding the history of racism in the US.

In all, it's an opportunity for not just Destiny 2 players, but anyone to help support the Black Lives Matter movement and also get something cool out of it so that they can show their support. Bungie's pins are typically available for just a limited time, so those interested shouldn't wait too long to make a decision.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
