Not every weapon is safe from Bungie and the Witness, and some of the best weapons in Destiny 2 are currently unavailable for players to acquire. These weapons have become victim to sunset content, which is Destiny 2’s version of vaulting, leaving content behind in favor of new expansions and seasonal activities.

6 Traveler’s Chosen (Damaged)

Acquired From The Red War Campaign

The first weapon players would get their hands on in Destiny 2 was the Traveler’s Chosen (Damaged). This weapon really serves no purpose other than an excuse to keep the first and worst weapon that players can get, tucked away in the vault. However, despite players dropping this weapon for the first gun they could find, it’s extremely rare, since the Red War campaign is no longer in Destiny 2, and all that remains are the memories and the loot for those veterans out there.

The Traveler’s Chosen (Damaged) is a common weapon, so players can’t place any neat perks or traits onto the gun. It could be fun bringing it into the fold, just because of how powerless it would be in PvE content. However, players who are brave enough to wield it in the crucible might get a few laughs.

5 West Of Sunfall 7

Complete Osiris’ Lost Prophecies On Mercury

A since vaulted location, Mercury does not exist in Destiny 2 anymore, and neither does the Curse of Osiris DLC that the weapon was from. The West of Sunfall 7 is unique in its appearance, thanks to the fact that it takes on the form of a Vex weapon. Only 4 perks were available for this weapon, and only a select amount of players got it due to the hardships of Osiris’ Lost Prophecies and their grindy nature.

To those who had the weapon, they might remember its bite. It has 180 rounds per minute, making it one of the best hand cannons in the game before its demise at the hands of vaulted content. This made it an underappreciated yet exceptional weapon that could be used for both PvE and PvP content.

4 Breachlight

Dropped From The Sundial Activity On Mercury

Another lost weapon to Mercury, Breachlight was a sidearm with a rather unique appearance and an adoration from both PvP and PvE players alike. The gun itself had some exciting rolls, like Demolitionist and Elemental Capacitor, and the gun felt great for even players who were not a fan of the often high recoil, high firing, short-range sidearms that came before Breachlight.

It’s a cool-looking gun that doesn’t play by the usual rule of sidearms, allowing everyone to get involved in the action, since each bullet hits hard and true with a punch. It’s a consistent weapon and one that doesn’t seem to be returning anytime soon.

3 Blast Furnace

Pulse rifles often go under the radar in Destiny 2. They are consistently average weapons, that never really get their time to shine before a slight tweak to the way they play. Before, pulse rifles could dominate the crucible, and the Blast Furnace was probably one of the reasons why thanks to its hard-hitting four-burst fire, which would easily dominate Guardians and PvE enemies alike.

2 Sins Of The Past

A huge blast radius makes Sins of the Past a great choice for Crucible back in the day. Today’s standards have been raised, so Sins of the Past probably wouldn’t be able to become a champion in 2024’s Destiny 2. However, that doesn’t mean it’s something to laugh at, as this Leviathan Raid rocket launcher still has its uses, specifically from its seemingly awful velocity, which fires rockets at a slower pace than others.

This slow velocity firing means that players can effectively use Strand to grapple to the rocket without being caught out by its speed. This means players can use the rocket like an elevator, or launch themselves towards their enemies with an intense speed.

1 Hammerhead

Crafted In A Black Armory Forge

Another power weapon that hadn’t seen the light of day for years, Hammerhead was a beloved machine gun, one that satisfied wielders from both the sound the gun made and the fury in its fire pattern. Hammerhead existed in a time when machine guns weren’t the best, but it easily managed to stand tall as one of the best non-exotic weapons in Destiny 2.

With perks like Rampage and Tap the Trigger, Hammerhead managed to dominate PvE activities and those lucky enough to find heavy ammo in the Crucible, or even in Gambit. It was a solid choice, and anything thrown at the player wielding it would be gunned down in a matter of seconds.
