Highlights

  • Titans in Destiny 2 may be underestimated, but they have some of the best Supers for high-damage and team-saving abilities.
  • Ward of Dawn offers protection, but recent nerfs have made it less effective for PvE content compared to other Supers.
  • Hammer of Sol is a standout Super for Titans, providing high resilience and ad-clearing abilities, even if it lacks boss damage potential.

Titans are rather popular in Destiny 2, but they are often seen as melee-obsessed crayon eaters by the community. The harmless banter associated with Titans might make them seem a little lackluster, but Titans have some of the best Supers in Destiny 2, allowing them to commit to high-damage, ad-clearing, and even team-saving.

Destiny 2: 10 Best Exotic Armor For Titans

Titans can become even stronger in Destiny 2 by using some of the game's best exotic Titan armor. Here's what players should get asap for their Titan.

For those new to the Titan class, or veterans who want to see the best Titan Supers ranked, they can look below to see a mix of different subclasses, and discover which Super is right for them among the endless PvE content for endgame activities, and maybe even PvP.

6 Ward Of Dawn

Create An Indestructible Dome To Protect Guardians

ward of dawn
  • Void Super | Light Ability
  • Base Cooldown: 7 minutes and 35 seconds

Ward of Dawn allows Titans to summon in a large Void bubble that their allies can hide inside to avoid being damaged by foes. While inside the Ward of Dawn bubble, players will receive a Void Overshield that will essentially act as a second shield. Ward of Dawn used to be great, much like the Well of Radiance from the Warlocks. Yet, recent nerfs have made Ward of Dawn almost useless.

Ward of Dawn doesn’t grant the great bonuses players would want, like extended shields and great damage. In PvE, players are much better off using a Super that will deal high-damage and personal survivability instead of the Void bubble. However, it’s still a dominant force in Crucible, as players can essentially create an impenetrable fortress.

5 Thundercrash

Become A Lightning Missile To Crash Into Targets

thundercrash
  • Arc Super | Light Ability
  • Base Cooldown: 9 minutes and 16 seconds

Activating Thundercrash will see Arc Titans propel themselves into the air like a rocket. Whilst in this state, players are able to withstand more damage as they barrel through the sky, flying like lightning as they seek out a target to land into, creating a thunderous impact that deals meteoric damage. Whilst it looks cool, sounds cool, and feels cool, the damage isn’t one of the best out there.

Titans can combine 16 Exotic Perks to unlock the ultimate potential of Prismatic in Destiny 2, and here are some great combos to look out for.

Players will feel a little underwhelmed by Thundercrash, as it leaves players vulnerable when using it. If players hurtle toward an endgame boss, they will be stuck in their wrath and open to attack due to being at such a close distance. Thundercrash also deserves a damage buff to be more worthy of use.

4 Twilight Arsenal

Throw Three Void Axes That Can Be Picked Up And Used

twilight arsenal
  • Void Super | Light Ability
  • Base Cooldown: 8 minutes and 20 seconds

The Final Shape provides Titans with a new Void Super called Twilight Arsenal. With this Super active, players will throw three Void axes in rapid succession. Each axe will pull nearby targets and will detonate a weakening explosion to further create great potential for damage from allies. Even better still, once the axes have been thrown, all Guardians can go over and pick them up, wielding them into battle.

With the Void axe in hand, players can slash their targets to damage them and weaken them. They can also throw the axe, which will create a high-damage area-of-effect explosion, harmless to players. Twilight Arsenal is great for quick bursts of damage, but the timer on the Void axes is low, and hanging in the air while using Twilight Arsenal leaves players quite vulnerable and open to attacks.

3 Burning Maul

Crush And Slam Targets With A Flaming Maul

burning maul
  • Solar Super | Light Ability
  • Base Cooldown: 8 minutes and 20 seconds

When summoning Burning Maul, players can spin this gigantic maul in a circle like a fiery tornado to damage nearby targets. They can also slam the maul into the ground to create cyclones of flames that will seek out targets to damage them, providing scorch that damages them over time. Burning Maul is great for ad control, but it’s even better with Pyrogale Gauntlets.

Destiny 2's best exotics come through as rewards within their challenging raids.

The Burning Maul Super is fun, but not the best. However, if players combine it with the Pyrogale Gauntlets, they will channel Burning Maul into one fierce explosion that can be great against endgame bosses due to the single concentration of high damage like a Hunter’s Golden Gun.

2 Bladefury

Slash And Suspend Targets With Two Woven Blades

bladefury
  • Strand Super | Dark Ability
  • Base Cooldown: 9 minutes and 16 seconds

When activating Bladefury, players will become one with Strand, and unleash two woven blades that fix to their arms. Players can run around at high speeds, slashing at anyone in their path with a flurry of attacks. Each hit will increase attack speed and grant energy for a heavy attack. As for the heavy attack, players can suspend targets, leaving them in the air and vulnerable to attacks.

Bladefury is another great Super for controlling the battleground against plenty of ads. Players are able to slash at everyone in their sight, chasing down foes without worry for their own health, as with the right build, they can reward themselves with Woven Mail, which essentially buffs their invulnerability.

1 Hammer Of Sol

Throw Flaming Hammers That Explode On Impact

hammer of sol
  • Solar Super | Light Ability
  • Base Cooldown: 9 minutes and 16 seconds

Hammer of Sol is easily the greatest Super that Titans have under their arsenal. It’s amazing to think that this Super wasn’t introduced until Destiny: The Taken King, and it’s been a strong contender for the best ever since. Hammer of Sol can easily save players’ lives through the high resilience it grants players, allowing them to essentially cheat death no matter what attacks them.

Each hammer can be thrown so fast, leaving devastation in its wake. Players can easily wreak destruction with Hammer of Sol, making a perfect ad-clearing Super that provides Restoration and other Solar buffs. The only downside is the damage potential against bosses. It’s not the hardest-hitting, but it is the best at controlling the situation and surviving.
