The final season of the Lightfall year has arrived, and with a hefty delay to The Final Shape expansion, it's going to be a long few months before players can get their hands on the next part of the Destiny 2 story. In the meantime, the seasonal plot focuses on the Ahamkara Wish Dragons, which hold the key to breaching the portal in the traveler.

Destiny 2: How to Get Lair Keys

Every Season in Destiny 2 follows a similar formula, so players will want to track down some Lair Keys as they do the new content.

And as with every season, players are graced with themed seasonal armor, as well as six new weapons in the same Ahamkara theme. Each weapon rolls with the new seasonal Origin Trait called Dragon's Vengeance, which activates when an ally perishes nearby or if players fall to critical health, refilling the magazine of the weapon, while also boosting handling, range, and charge rate. All of the six new weapons are craftable, so which patterns should players unlock and create first?

Note that this article will not consider the four returning Undying weapons, also available this season.

6 Lethophobia

Void Combat Bow

Destiny 2 Lethophobia Combat Bow
  • God Roll: Repulsor Brace & Explosive Head

Players missing a Void combat bow can finally rejoice because Lethophobia is not one of the easiest of its archetype and element to farm this season. With a Lightweight Frame, too, it feels much better to use than Under Your Skin for example, which came out during Season of the Risen and is also craftable.

Repulsor Brace is immediately a perk that catches the eye, especially with a Void weapon that could fit in nicely in a Void build. The second perk should without a doubt be Explosive Head to boost the bow's capability when it comes to clearing rooms of ads. What weighs it down is its unpopular archetype and the poor position that bows are in when it comes to the PVE meta of the game as of right now. Out of the six weapons, this one should probably be left as the last one to craft—if it's crafted at all.

5 Scalar Potential

Arc Pulse Rifle

Destiny 2 Scalar Potential Pulse Rifle
  • God Roll: Permeability/Enlightened Action & Attrition Orbs

Pulse rifles are really not in the best of positions, and that's partly why Scalar Potential fails to impress. More importantly, its perk pool just leaves players feeling lukewarm. There aren't that many interesting picks to choose from, and it's a shame because, given its Arc elemental type, it could have easily gained an Arc perk like Voltshot to make it a bit more powerful and desirable.

Along with the Void bow, Scalar Potential is one of those weapons that players can easily skip out on crafting. Those who do want an Arc pulse in their Vaults can try a combination with Permeability or Enlightened Action, paired with Attrition Orbs. The latter creates Orbs of Power when players sustain damage on a target with the weapon.

4 Supercluster

Strand Shotgun

Destiny 2 Supercluster Shotgun
  • God Roll: Reconstruction & Vorpal Weapon/Surrounded

Shotguns are getting better and better in PVE, and with some builds focused on close, melee-range gameplay, Supercluster is actually not too bad of a weapon to craft. A Strand shotgun that can roll with Reconstruction, a fantastic perk that automatically reloads the weapon over time, it's a decent one to keep an eye out for this season for those who go for Strand builds in particular.

For the second perk, it's a split between Vorpal Weapon and Surrounded. Both are nice generalist perks, with Vorpal great against bosses, vehicles, or guardians in PVP. Meanwhile, Surrounded works well in settings where players might find themselves overwhelmed with ads, as it boosts damage depending on how many enemies are in close proximity. In fact, even Hatchling could be argued in some situations to be a decent pick here.

3 Scatter Signal

Strand Fusion Rifle

Destiny 2 Scatter Signal Fusion Rifle
  • God Roll: Overflow & Controlled Burst

Fusion rifles are also on the rise along with shotguns, which is why this Strand fusion rifle makes it to the middle-top tier of the pack. In true Strand fashion, it comes with a few Strand perks like Hatchling which can be interesting to play around with, or even the new Slice park that requires players to cast their class ability to grant Sever to the weapon.

All that being said, Overflow is still a generalist perk that just has a slight edge over Slice due to its ability to overflow the magazine when players pick up Special and Heavy ammo. The second ideal perk is no doubt Controlled Burst, which rewards players for hitting all projectiles in a shot by boosting damage and lowering the weapon's charge time. There's no need to rush for this weapon first, but it should be up there as one of the more unique craftable items this season—and those who missed Pressurized Precision from Iron Banner can easily grab this one instead.

2 Appetence

Stasis Trace Rifle

Destiny 2 Appetence Trace Rifle
  • God Roll: Overflow & Killing Tally

A Stasis trace rifle that is not Exotic is something to look forward to, which is why Appetence is in the top two of the weapons in Season of the Wish. And while it may not pack a punch in terms of its perks like some other trace rifles out there, it does have a pretty solid perk pool that anyone can benefit from.

With Destiny 2 approaching the end of the Lightfall era, which weapons should players craft as soon as possible?

Overflow is a no-brainer choice here to ensure players are getting a nice overflow of ammo whenever picking up Special or Heavy Ammo. Killing Tally is the ultimate favorite for many trace rifles, as it boosts weapon damage with each consecutive kill. This boost remains as well until the player changes weapons. Appetence should be one of the first seasonal weapons players craft this season, particularly useful for PVE.

1 Doomed Petitioner

Void Linear Fusion Rifle

Destiny 2 Doomed Petitioner Linear Fusion Rifle
  • God Roll: Reconstruction & Precision Instrument

The Taipan and Threaded Needle have received a bit of competition with the brand-new linear fusion rifle out this season: Doomed Petitioner. While it remains to be seen how well this truly does (and it's unlikely it will top strong picks like Cataclysmic due to Bait and Switch), it does show some early signs of promise in terms of its damage potential. As such, it's by far the best Season of the Wish weapon based on early information.

Reconstruction is the go-to perk for avoiding unnecessary reloads when in the heat of the moment, and beats Envious Assassin due to how convenient it is. Precision Instrument is where things get interesting, as it buffs the weapon's damage with each stack of sustained damage on a target, up to six stacks. At maximum stacks, it deals 25% additional damage. This, on top of surge mods, could be pretty significant—but again, it's early to say for sure. What's certain for now is that it's worth crafting this weapon first.
