As players drop to Neomuna for the first in Destiny 2's newest expansion, Lightfall, they not only get to learn the new Strand subclass but also discover a bunch of new weapons found in the Neomuna collection. Many of these weapons are Strand weapons as well, which makes them desirable for Strand builds.

Overall, since these are destination weapons, the Neomuna weapons aren't incredibly crazy or powerful this season. They provide decent choices for players jumping into Strand or into Destiny 2 for the first time, but many of them have dupes already in the game that perform better. That said, those who would like to farm these Neomuna weapons can head to the Terminal Overload public event on Neomuna, which changes location at every daily reset, along with the weapon it's most likely to drop.

8 Iterative Loop Fusion Rifle

Destiny 2 Iterative Loop Fusion Rifle

At the bottom of the list is a somewhat neglected weapon archetype since the Season of the Lost: fusion rifles. Iterative Loop is an Arc fusion rifle, and although fusions still provide decent burst damage, they don't have much of a place in endgame PVE save for the Chill Clip Stasis variety. In PVP, they might see some use depending on the rolls.

Under Pressure, Graver Robber, and Lead From Gold are the more interesting first-column perks, and in the second, players should try and get Voltshot, Demolitionist, Pugilist, or Adrenaline Junkie. For Arc builds, this might be a fun little pick-up, but nothing must-have.

7 Round Robin Hand Cannon

Destiny 2 Round Robin Hand Cannon

Hand cannons are another archetype that needs serious help in both PVE and PVP. The only reason this Strand hand cannon, Round Robin, ranks above the Arc fusion rifle is because of its Strand specialty. Strand weapons being in high demand right now, any pick-up is good for those who haven't acquired the Quicksilver Storm yet and upgraded its Catalyst.

Interesting perks in its first column include Keep Away and Subsistence. In the second column, Hatchling or Golden Tricorn are amazing for PVE, with Kill Clip not being as interesting due to last year's nerfs. For old-school players who still rely on the good old hand cannons, it's a cool Strand weapon to add to one's arsenal.

6 Phyllotactic Spiral Pulse Rifle

Destiny 2 Phyllotactic Spiral Pulse Rifle

An Arc pulse rifle from Neomuna, it's a high-damage but slow-firing pulse that showcases exactly why pulse rifles remain only the third or fourth best when it comes to primary weapons in PVE. Phyllotactic Spiral just feels a little too slow to be really useful, but it's a decent Arc pulse for players who want something with a bit more damage.

First-column perks to look out for would be Keep Away or Tunnel Vision, which both are very average perks in general and goes to show that the perk pool, in general, isn't inspiring. In the second column, things get a bit spicier with Voltshot, Frenzy, or even Headseeker. Kill Clip is also an option, but still not the best for PVE in particular.

5 Volta Bracket Sniper Rifle

Destiny 2 Volta Bracket Sniper Rifle

Sniper rifles are in a weird spot right now. They definitely are at the brink of having more potential, which is why it might be smart to save a few good sniper rifles for the Destiny 2 year to come as the meta continues to evolve. Volta Bracket is also interesting because it's a Strand weapon, and for a sniper, it has a few of the classic sniper godroll combos.

In the first column Triple Tap, Envious Assassin and Keep Away work wonderfully with a long-range precision weapon like this one. Second-column picks can go from Explosive Payload or Firing Line to even Hatchling for those spicy Strand builds.

4 Basso Ostinato Shotgun

Destiny 2 Basso Ostinato Shotgun

Shotguns are still a favorite for many players, even if they do struggle a little bit in the meta right now. The Basso Ostinato shotgun from Neomuna is a Void shotgun that comes with a few solid PVE perks that have been generally accepted as some of the best available for shotguns. That said, it is a rapid-fire frame shotgun, which may not be everyone's favorite.

Look for Envious Assassin and Lead From Gold in the first perk column, and for the second, definitely go for Destabilizing Rounds for that Volatile effect or One-Two Punch for any cool melee builds that take full advantage of the perk.

3 Dimensional Hypotrochoid Heavy Grenade Launcher

Destiny 2 Dimensional Hypotrochoid Grenade Launcher

Heavy grenade launchers are doing well this season, with the Regnant seasonal weapon making waves in the community thanks to its amazing perk pool and stats. The Neomuna heavy grenade launcher Dimensional Hypotrochoid with Stasis energy, however, is somewhat weaker compared to some of the other Legendary options available.

Despite that, it's a nice ad-clear pickup from Neomuna. In the first column, Envious Assassin and Field Prep are great options (as well as Stats for All, possibly). The second column has Chain Reaction as a classic must-have grenade launcher perk, with either One for All or Vorpal as average backup perks.

2 Circular Logic Machine Gun

Destiny 2 Circular Logic Machine Gun

Machine guns are definitely in a better spot now than they were over a year ago, with Bungie continuously buffing their damage. Circular Logic, the new Neomuna Strand machine gun, is a key example of it with loads of great perks that make it incredible for Strand builds focused on ad-clearing.

Feeding Frenzy and Envious Assassin work well in the first column, and the second column comes with basically only good perks: Hatchling, Target Lock, Demolitionist, Golden Tricorn, Vorpal Weapon, and Eye of the Storm. Only the last perk could be considered weak or unnecessary on this weapon.

1 Synchronic Roulette SMG

Destiny 2 Snychronic Roulette SMG

SMGs being the kings of primary weapons in PVE still in season 20, it's no surprise to see Synchronic Roulette at the top of this list. Not only is this an SMG, but it's also a Strand SMG, and with Strand being one of the best subclasses this season for just about any content, players should definitely chase after this weapon.

For an SMG, it does have its flaws. The reload can be sluggish and the magazine is a bit small. The first perk column isn't incredible with its options either, with Envious Assassin looking like one of the strongest options if this SMG is paired with an ad-clear-focused energy or heavy. The must-have secondary perk is Hatchling, which will merge well with any Strand builds out there.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
