Highlights

  • Dungeons offer unique stories, atmosphere, and weapon sets in Destiny 2.
  • Warlord's Ruin and Spire of the Watcher have underwhelming weapon sets, while Prophecy and Ghosts of the Deep offer strong loot.
  • Grasp of Avarice and Duality provide memorable weapons like Eyasluna and Lingering Dread for PvE and PvP players.

Dungeons are some of the best content in Destiny 2 from Bungie, where players can embark on a 3-player activity that acts like a shorter Raid. The best Dungeons always have a great story and atmosphere that allows players to immerse themselves in Destiny 2 truly. Yet, there is another important factor when it comes to crafting a great Dungeon: memorable weapon sets.

The best Raids in Destiny 2 often feature Legendary weapons that can complement the power of every Guardian that wields them.

Most dungeons will have a set of weapons that are completely unique and exclusive to the Dungeon that it come from. These weapon sets offer a variety of choices for players to wield in PvE and PvP, and some players might find themselves crafting a new build just for one of these weapons.

The weapon set for Warlord’s Ruin is a tad underwhelming. Whilst the dungeon itself is great fun and a meaty challenge for powerful Guardians, the weapons are not worth their share, and the loot might disappoint some players due to their dependency on the range and slow-firing weapons. The Combat Bow and the Sniper Rifle are nothing out of the ordinary, and the inclusion of a sword never bodes well in the meta.

Yet, the silver lining of this loot pool is Indebted Kindness, the first Energy Sidearm that was introduced in Destiny 2 thanks to Warlord’s Ruin. This Sidearm is a true beast worth taming, as it excels at fast-firing rockets that deal devastating damage, especially with the right perks for PvE use.

There’s a lengthy source of weaponry found within Spire of the Watcher, and pretty much all of these weapons can get the job done. The dungeon is great for its Western aesthetic and cowboy-themed outfits, but the weapons also deserve some love. The problem a few players might have with the weaponry is that there’s a lack of risk from using them, as they are all consistently average and work as normal weapons with not much to say. Yet, there are a few standouts that deserve admiration amongst the rest.

Destiny 2: 6 Sunset Raids Still Not In The Game

Some of the best raids that Guardians have experienced have still not been re-added to Destiny 2, bringing hope that one day that will change.

Firstly, the Long Arm Scout Rifle is great for PvE and PvP content. Its fire rate compliments accurate players well, as does the Seventh Seraph Carbine, which works as a consistently good Auto Rifle. Yet, these choices are not the top of the line in Destiny 2, and still average out against other stronger weapons.

The original version of the Prophecy dungeon didn’t have an incredibly interesting loot pool. However, with Season 23, Prophecy came back into popularity thanks to its revamp, providing players with a new set of Legendary weapons which were all able to impress both PvE and PvP players alike thanks to their set of perks and fire potential.

The most notable piece of loot from Prophecy was perhaps the Relentless Pulse Rifle, a weapon that deals consistently great damage thanks to a buff in The Final Shape. Paired with perks like Headseeker and Rapid Hit, players are easily going to dominate the competition. The other Prophecy weapons are fairly decent, but Relentless is the true great prize.

Players can seek riches from beneath the methane sea of Titan in Ghosts of the Deep, and discover some experimental weaponry for their expanding arsenal as the Lucent Hive attempts to resurrect Oryx, the Taken King. The weapon choices involved in Ghosts of the Deep are unconventional and somewhat unusual, but each of them works in surprising ways to complement different builds.

The likes of Cold Comfort make for an incredible Rocket Launcher that can utilize Chill Clip, whilst a fast-firing SMG like No Survivors can devastate the competition in PvE and PvP. These two picks are undoubtedly the best of the dungeon, but mediocre picks like the Greasy Luck Glaive put it down a notch.

Enter into the infamous loot cave to discover a treasure trove lurking with Fallen pirates underneath, and earn a humble set of weapons for the trouble. Grasp of Avarice doesn’t feature many weapons, but a few of them are rather memorable. Straight off the bat, players can ignore the Hero of Ages, a Power Sword that will do them no favors in the current meta. Instead, they can look to the impressive nature of the Eyasluna, a Stasis Hand Cannon.

With each new season and expansion of Destiny 2, the death toll rises, and Guardians have to say goodbye to some famous characters.

Eyasluna is wonderful in both PvE and PvP, and it can hit hard and fast, providing a deserving competitor to the best Hand Cannons in Destiny 2. This dungeon also has great potential for PvP players thanks to the 1000 Yard Stare Sniper Rifle and the devastatingly annoying Matador 64 Shotgun.

Another extensive loot pool arrives for those brave enough to venture to the horrifying remains of Calus’ Leviathan. Hordes of treasure await those who enter the Duality dungeon, but hopefully, those Guardians prefer weapons with explosive potential. The best weaponry from Duality comes from Lingering Dread, a Kinetic Grenade Launcher that excels at PvE combat thanks to its shatter potential, allowing for greatness in crowd control.

Outside of this grand weapon, players can amass an impressive arsenal, with the likes of New Purpose, a Pulse Rifle that will always provide consistent damage and fire rate, and a Void SMG that truly takes the cake. The loot table of Duality is definitely worth experimenting with, as there is a weapon involved for everyone.
