Next week is going to be a big one for Bungie and its popular FPS Destiny 2 as not only does the current season come to an end, but the studio is preparing to reveal what's next. Already, the company has teased the community with short trailers featuring The Drifter and Eris Morn heading to what many are speculating to be the icy moon Europa. Surprisingly, the upcoming season scheduled for launch next week also hasn't been reveal, though Bungie has shared a bit of information regarding upcoming sandbox changes.

The current list, as seen in this week's blog post from Bungie, already features an impressive list of changes planned to hit Destiny 2 next week. However, one item has seemingly missed the cut as the much maligned Titan exotic item, Antaeus Wards, were no where to be found. As it turns out, that omission was a mistake as Community Manager Cozmo23 provided an update over on the Destiny subReddit regarding these boots.

According to Cozmo, the Antaeus Wards are getting two key nerfs. It will no longer give a bonus to super energy when reflecting shots and players will now have to sprint for 1.5 seconds longer before the exotic perk will be triggered by sliding. Unfortunately, these planned changes aren't going to make it into the initial update next week and instead will be added the following week.

The fanbase has been up in arms with this exotic gear after its Season of the Worthy buff, as when they were first introduced, the boots were largely overlooked. The gear's ability to reflect shots back at the opposing player makes it easier for Titan players to rush their opponent, slide as they get close to reflect bullets back at the enemy and finish them off with a close quarters weapon such as a shotgun. Following the update, Bungie removed chip damage potential which meant that sliding players basically took no damage.

The change hasn't gone over well with non-Titan players in competitive modes like the Crucible. In fact, things have gotten so heated that a few of the game's most notable players teammed up to create an elaborate plan to trick Bungie into disabling the gear. Clan Redeem posted a doctored video showing the Antaeus Wards killing a raid boss instantly. Players like Gladd and Ehroar were hoping Bungie would spend a bit more time looking at the exotic if it had thought the item was bugged, though the trick was found out and nothing came about.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
