The previous year of Destiny 2 ended with an epilogue quest and activity to prepare players for The Witch Queen. With Lightfall only two weeks away now, Bungie has released the epilogue for Season of the Seraph that helps set the scene for the next year of Destiny 2.

As opposed to last year, players have two weeks to complete this final mission. If players want to see the ending for this Season, they will want to complete the mission Abhorrent Imperative. This mission is tougher than normal seasonal activities like Heist Battlegrounds, so here is how players can beat it.

How to Start Abhorrent Imperative

In order to start the final mission, players will first need to have completed the entire 'More Than a Weapon' quest. If players had already completed this quest before the second to last week of Season of the Seraph, they will automatically load into the H.E.L.M. upon logging in. There will be a brief conversation between Ana Bray and Rasputin. After that, talk to Rasputin to accept the quest 'Final Dawn'.

Upon accepting this quest, a flag will appear next to Rasputin that allows players to start the mission 'Abhorrent Imperative'. While this activity may be set to Power level 1350, players should be aware that they will be set to a fixed Power level. On top of that, there is no matchmaking, and it is set to Legend difficulty. These settings may seem daunting, but this mission is nothing compared to the Legendary Campaign for The Witch Queen. Players should prepare their best add clear build.

The mission itself takes place in the Seraph Station where players found Revision Zero. It starts in the middle of the space walk section of Operation: Seraph's Shield. Players should follow the waypoint to get inside the station. Be prepared to deal with a lot of enemies along the way. On top of that, the nearby ship will shoot at players.

While jumping across platforms, look for an orange circle with a beam of light shooting up. This indicates where the ship is firing. Wait for the attack to go off and then continue forward. Once inside the station, players will enter a respawn restricted zone.

How to Beat Eramis

Eramis is waiting inside the station. As players fight her, they will need to keep moving and watch out for her Stasis abilities. Throughout the fight, more groups of enemies will spawn, so players will need to be prepared to deal with them while also watching out for Eramis. Weapons like Osteo Striga are very helpful during this fight. Once players do enough damage to Eramis, she will teleport away. Continue fighting enemies and then summon reinforcements from Rasputin. The door will open and players will be able to proceed forward.

There are a lot of enemies in the next couple of rooms, including Ogres. Thankfully this area is not a respawn restricted zone, so players won't have to worry about that. Eventually players will come across a door blocked off by Stasis crystals. Rasputin will open a teleporter to allow further progression. Keep moving forward until reaching the room where the final boss of Operation: Seraph's Shield was. Clear out all the enemies in this room and then install the Pillory Engram to upload Rasputin.

How to Beat Ir Garza, Scourge of Earth

While Rasputin uploads to the station, Destiny 2 players will have to deal with a Hive Wizard cloaked in shadow. Aside from an AoE attack that spawns tendrils of purple energy that raise up from the ground, Ir Garza doesn't have many abilities that players need to watch out for. The tricky part of this fight is all the enemies that will be constantly spawning. Once again, weapons like Osteo Striga are essential for not getting overwhelmed.

While progressing through the fight, players will see the status of LOKI CROWN gradually increase. This encounter does not actually have a timer, so players should not feel like they need to rush.

At 66% and 33% health, Ir Garza will gain a shield and become invulnerable. Look for a Hive Knight and kill it to drop the shield in order to damage Ir Garza again. If players are able to keep on top of add control, they will be able to beat Ir Garza with little trouble. Once the boss is dead, the mission will end and players can enjoy the ending for Year 5 of Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 is available now on Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
