Ever since Netflix started releasing a list of the top 10 most popular content on the site, most subscribers of the streaming service have often wondered why a specific show or movie is considered to be the most viewed one. For almost a month now, the popular docu-series, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness have been on top of Netflix's list, but it appears that the show has now been unseated by an older movie.

The film that has now unseated Tiger King as Netflix's most viewed content is none other than the classic animated film, Despicable Me. Of course, it is unsurprising that Despicable Me took over Netflix's top list, especially since the movie has a wider audience appeal than Tiger King. To the uninitiated, Despicable Me is an animated film by Illumination Entertainment that revolves around the super-villain Gru and his weird henchmen known as the Minions.

Before Tiger King was beaten by Despicable Me, the docu-series that revolves around big-cat breeder Joe Exotic became extremely popular, to the point that fans of the show recreated its characters and scenes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Given New Horizons' vast customization options, players were able to recreate outfits that resemble those of Tiger King's cast, and a few creative players even re-enacted some famous scenes from the popular Netflix show.
