Since they are up against the most powerful beings in existence, demon slayers die quite frequently. However, their efforts do not necessarily go in vain. Here are some of the most significant achievements of the Demon Slayer Corps that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are a special group.

5 Keeping The Ubuyashiki Family's Whereabouts A Secret

The Demon King's Efforts To Track Down Ubuyashikis Has Been A Failure

The Ubyashiki family has been at the forefront of the battle against demons for centuries. Because they are related to the Demon King, they have been afflicted with a terrible curse that continues to poison their bloodline. Since Kagaya Ubuyashiki acts as the current chief of the Demon Slayer Corps, his life is always under threat.

Therefore, it's one of the most important tasks of the Corps members that they do everything it takes to keep Kagaya's whereabouts a secret. Interestingly, the Demon Slayer Corps has been brilliant in this regard, as they have repeatedly protected the Ubuyashikis from Muzan Kibutsuji and his minions.

4 Protecting The Hashira Estates

Demon Slayers are constantly at war against demons who put the lives of innocent people at risk. In the relentless pursuit to confront disorder and violence, these brave combatants do not usually get a safe space to rest, recover, and train, unless they are in the Hashira Estates. Probably the most reliable and frequently visited of all these destinations is the Butterfly Mansion, where Tanjiro and his friends usually end up after fighting against demons.

Despite facing tragedies early in his life, Tanjiro retained his compassionate nature and made some wonderful friends.

Ubuyashiki estate and the Hashira Mansions offer a safe haven for members of the Demon Slayer Corps. Therefore, protecting them is also critical to ensuring that the corps always has a secret destination to return to for training and rehabilitation. Interestingly, the Demon Slayer Corps has done an incredible job protecting every estate so far as they have not been attacked by demons. This has helped sustain the struggle against forces of evil and is likely going to give the corps leverage against their adversaries in the future as well.

3 Giving Nezuko And Tanjiro A Chance

Embracing The Brother Sister Duo As Their Own Helped In Their Fights Against Evil

Demon Slayer Nezuko Sleeps On Tanjiro

When the Demon Slayer Corps learn about Nezuko, a Hashira meeting is organized to decide Tanjiro and her futures. Interestingly, the Hashiras are overwhelmingly against the idea of accepting the brother-sister duo as members of the Corps. However, Ubuyashiki reasons that they only stand to benefit by having them around. He also mentions how Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka and Sakonji Urokodaki have taken on their responsibility.

Eventually, Tanjiro and Nezuko are allowed to join the Corps and slowly win the trust of the Hashiras as well. This decision has far-reaching consequences, as Nezuko goes on to conquer the sun, forcing Muzan to make rash decisions that lead to his downfall. One can go as far as arguing that Muzan Kibutsuji may have never been defeated if it wasn't for Tanjiro and Nezuko's crucial contributions.

2 Defeating Gyokko, Hatengu, Gyutaro, And Daki

Killing Important Members Of The Twelve Kizuki Has Brought Them One Step Closer To Defeating Muzan

Hantengu and Gyokko, Two Upper Ranks

Muzan Kibutsuji has haunted humanity for centuries. His reign of terror is established through the ruthless and violent actions perpetrated by him and his minions. Although Kibutsuji has countless demons under his spell, he relies heavily on the Upper-Rank members of the Twelve Kizuki. They are so efficient at taking out Hashiras that Muzan does not have to summon them for decades, and gives them the freedom to operate as they deem fit.

It is quite obvious to the Demon Slayer Corps that the Upper-Rank Demons are Muzan's greatest strength. In order to challenge him, demon slayers must target the dangerous subordinates of the Demon King. In the Entertainment District Arc, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko are confronted by the Upper-Rank Six duo Gyutaro and Daki. Although the team sustains serious injuries, they end up killing the brother-sister duo who claimed to have killed 22 Hashiras combined.

Demon Slayer: Hantengu’s Blood Demon Art, Explained

The Upper Rank Four demon has one of the most versatile and complex Blood Demon Art techniques in the series. Here's why.

Following the fierce battle in Yoshiwara, Muzan summons the Upper-Rank Demons after 113 years and expresses his frustration with them. It appears that the Demon King is losing patience with his most trusted subordinates and is seriously concerned by their failures. Gyutaro and Daki's deaths are a big blow to Muzan's forces, but things only get worse.

In the aftermath of the Entertainment District incident, Gyokko and Hantengu infiltrate the Swordsmith village and unleash an unexpected attack. But the Upper Rank 4 and 5 do not realize that Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, Tanjiro, Genya, and Nezuko are already there. The battle between the forces of good and evil is violent, and the former emerges victorious in the end. Gyokko and Hantengu die in the process, leaving Muzan as vulnerable as he has ever been. The victory over Kibutsuji's strongest henchmen is probably one of the most important achievements of the Demon Slayer Corps.

1 Awakening The Demon Slayer Mark

The Demon Slayer Mark Allows Members Of The Corps To Realize Their True Potential

Demon Slayer - Mystery of Demon Slayer Mark feature

As mentioned earlier, Tanjiro and his allies fought Gyokko and Hantengu in the Swordsmith village. During the battle, Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito awakened his Demon Slayer Mark after which he single-handedly defeated the Upper-Rank Five Gyokko. In that state, he became almost untouchable, as his enhanced vitality, speed, and power were too much for his adversary to handle. Just moments before Tokito awakened his Mark, Tanjiro achieved the same state and decapitated Hantengu's clones with ease.

Interestingly, this was not the first time Tanjiro had awakened his Demon Slayer Mark. In the Entertainment District Arc, he helped Tengen Uzui kill Gyutaro by entering the same state. While fighting Zohakuten, Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji also managed to awaken her Mark. It gives the demon slayers powers beyond their imagination and allows them to fight past their human potential. Although the Demon Slayer Corps has had several important breakthroughs in their fight against the Demon King, the awakening of the Demon Slayer mark is undoubtedly one of the most significant.
