The art of survival in a game like Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor requires players to vanquish swarms of foes while staying alive, which is something that is true of the franchise this game is a spin-off of. As players get to grips with the different classes and how they fight, they will also get a taste of increasingly powerful and varied weapons.

For the starting Scout class, which is where players will spend most of their time in the initial stages of the game, the unlockable weapons already show plenty of potential in defeating the enemies that are interfering with the collection of precious resources. For players hoping to be even more effective in their killing, here are the best Scout weapons that should be added to your arsenal as soon as possible in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivors.

Much like the classes themselves, weapons for specific classes require players to display mastery before they become available. In this case, the higher the Scout rank, the more weapons become usable for the class. To hit the higher levels, players must focus on completing the in-game milestones that also unlock more artifacts, which range from the simple to the downright crazy. Here are all the Scout weapons that can be unlocked:

  • Deepcore GK2
  • Voltaic Stun Sweeper
  • Cryo Grenade
  • Jury-Rigged Boomstick
  • M1000 Classic
  • Zhukov NUK17
  • TH-0R Bug Taser
  • DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine
  • Nishanka Boltshark X-80

By hitting Scout rank 15, all of the above weapons will be at your disposal beneath the ground.

In terms of effectiveness and usability, there are a few clear winners for weapons wielded by the Scout. The DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine is by far the most powerful, dealing lots of damage to anything unlucky enough to be standing in its way. Both the Voltaic Stun Sweeper and TH-0R Bug Taser also stand out because of the nature of the attacks, which can hit multiple enemies with both damage and status effects.

That said, the Deepcore GK2 starting weapon holds up pretty well at the start and throughout run as well, with a good firing rate, reload speed, and damage. For concentrated damage, consider the M1000 Classic and Nishanka Boltshark X-80 for the piercing shots that also pack a punch.

As for the rest of the weapons, they are more dependent on use cases. The Cryo Grenade's best quality is its ability to slow enemies down, and the Jury-Rigged Shotgun does a good job up close. As for the Zhukov NUK17, being able to shoot in four directions is great if you know how to move the Scout, but its real potential requires Overclocking, which does reduce its efficiency before then.
