One of Deathloop's most interesting features is its trinkets. Beyond the powerful slabs and devastating weapons, trinkets for Colt and his weapons can transform the game in subtle yet significant ways to make each loop unique. Before 2022's Goldenloop update, players had to rely on enemy drops and environmental puzzles to find trinkets. Now, however, they can use the Trinket Machine for gold-quality trinkets - and will even unlock a trophy/achievement for doing so.

Deathloop's 'Best Of Both Worlds' trophy/achievement is rewarded to players for successfully using the trinket machine for the first time, but it isn't an easy task. Players should prepare for all-out combat and bring their most effective one-handed weaponry to claim their reward and an elusive ultra-rare trophy.

How To Get the Best of Both Worlds Trophy

Deathloop Killing An Enemy Julianna From The Rooftops In Karl's Bay

The trinket machine can only be found in Karl's Bay in the Afternoon. Its exact location can be revealed by tracking the 'enterprising scientists' discovery, but it's close enough to the tunnels that players can stumble upon it by accident. Karl's Bay is also home to the dangerous Garbage Collector during the afternoon, so players may wish to deal with him before using the trinket machine (or simply leave him alone to ensure they've got plenty of health and ammo ready for the fight ahead).

After leaving the tunnels overlooking the cliffs, players should travel left along the street through a tunnel of blinking screens. On the right, a building with an open window will take players inside a room with the machine - a few nearby Eternalists should be dealt with before using it. Near the window, a lever can be pulled to activate a 4-minute timer; before pulling it, however, players should grab a Portable Harvester from a table nearby.

Upon pulling the lever, Residuum-infused enemies will appear around Karl's Bay. Identified by their glowing beacons, players should run around the area dispatching them as normal. Holding the Harvester will force players to shoot with their left hand, but it automatically absorbs the dead enemies and Residuum from infused objects around Karl's Bay to charge up the trinket machine with energy. Even after the Residuum-infused enemies disappear, objects can still be absorbed to get more energy. Players who prefer to avoid combat can use this to their advantage by simply harvesting objects - though the trinkets they get at the end won't be as high-quality.

When players have gathered enough energy - surpassing the first mark on the harvester's dial at the very least - they should return to the machine. Putting the harvester inside will make it start creating trinkets, and several Eternalists will spawn to investigate the noise. Players will need to fight them off for a few minutes, and when the machine is ready, taking the trinkets from inside will unlock the trophy.

Deathloop is available now on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
