This coming May, Arkane Studios will be releasing its newest IP for the PlayStation 5 as well as the PC called Deathloop. Originally planned to be a launch title, Deathloop was ultimately delayed into 2021 with development slowing down due to the studio working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even with the launch date approaching, the game remains a mystery due to its unique gameplay and storytelling being far different from Arkane's previous work like the Dishonored titles.

What fans do know is that Deathloop puts players in the shoes of an assassin known as Colt who is suddenly stuck in a never ending time loop on a mysterious island called Blackreef. Described by the studio as a big murder puzzle, players will need to figure out how to solve the mystery in one perfect run and break the curse. However, figuring things out will ultimately come from countless deaths at the hands of eight targets known as Visionaries as well as Julianna Blake, an assassin specifically hunting him through each run. While Colt retains his memories, each death and end of the day results in the time loop resetting itself.

Deathloop Pre-order Bonuses

Anyone who puts money down on Deathloop prior to its May 21 launch date will get their hands on a couple of digital goodies. In addition to the game itself, players will unlock the Storm Rider skin for the main character Colt. The skin gives Colt a white outfit with a pilot's helmet, boots, pants, and a sweatshirt with a specific design on the back.

In addition, players will also receive one trinket, which is an equippable buff in Deathloop. Unfortunately, Arkane isn't providing any additional details on what sort of benefit players recieve when equipping it, but there's likely going to be a good amount to pick from when playing the regular game.

It's also worth noting that for those who pick up the PlayStation 5 version of Deathloop, they'll be getting an additional pre-order bonus. PS5 players will be getting the exclusive melee weapon, the Royal Protector Machete, no doubt inspired from Arkane's other big hit franchise, Dishonored.
