A disturbing, yet intriguing, post-apocalyptic action RPG was revealed at the PC Gaming Show at E3 2021. As a tale of cosmic horror, there is disturbing imagery abound in this title. Ranging from blood soaked rivers and corpses to Lovecraftian eldritch abominations, this game is without a doubt, a grotesque sight. After 6 years of development, Death Trash will soon be available for early access.

This game takes place after humans left the planet Earth in search of the cosmos, and settled on a brand new planet: Nexus. This planet had ancient secrets inscribed in stone, which resulted in corruption and destruction on the planet. The player must now take things into their own hands, as they settle out on a new adventure, where their in-game choices can be the making or breaking point between these creatures becoming their friends or enemies.

The trailer had shown off some impressively disturbing pixel art and sprites, but it was not the only unsettling game shown at this year's E3. What it does bring to the table, however, is imagery covered in terrifying and disturbing creatures. Some of these do include the aforementioned eldritch Cthulhu squid-like creatures, fellow human NPCs, and even machines.

It is possible to battle against these enemies should a player perceive them as such, but also on the flip-side, they can make these horrors their allies. This can only be done through various dialogue options when conversing with these NPCs. They can be found through adventuring on Nexus, navigating desolate destroyed cities, the overworld's bleak orange fields, and even the bloodstained remains of civilizations. With the incredibly striking and bloody visuals demonstrated at E3Death Trash certainly has made an impression.

Some other details revealed in the trailer were the customizable character attributes. The game draws influence from many other genres, such as cyberpunk, sci-fi, and cosmic horror. This influence extends to the customization, where the player is given quite a lot to choose from. This includes the ability to choose between many of the different techniques that could affect their overall campaign experience. Some of these range from core attributes, like "Cybertech" or "Empathy" to skills, such as "Artistry" and "Bartering."

There are a variety of weapons that could be used based on the footage shown, such as a shotgun or hammer. With this game boasting a huge variety of customization, along with multiple dialogue paths that could be taken, Death Thrash seems like it could be a title with lots of replay value.

Death Trash will be available for early access on Steam August 5, 2021.
