Death Stranding: Director's Cut launched on PS5 in 2021 as the definitive way to play the game, packing new features and content not found in the original game. Many were hoping that this re-release of Death Stranding would find its way to PC, and sure enough, the Director's Cut just got a release date.

Following a brief leak at the beginning of the month, 505 Games confirmed that Death Stranding: Director's Cut was coming to PC very soon. There was a definitive desire by gamers for such a port as the base version of Death Stranding released on PC in June 2020, less than a year after it originally released on PS4. This version of the game gave players more control over the game's performance as well as special crossover content with the then-recently released Half-Life: Alyx. For those who waited to experience Death Stranding: Director's Cut on PC, they won't have too much longer to wait.

In a new blog post on the official Death Stranding website, 505 Games confirms that Death Stranding: Director's Cut is coming to PC on March 30. Antonela Pounder, Director of Global Community at 505 Games, explains in their article that the game will be available for purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store for $39.99, 10 dollars cheaper than the PS5 version of Death Stranding: Director's Cut. Players who already own the original Death Stranding can upgrade to the Director's Cut at launch for $9.99 as long as they have the base version installed on their PC.

Players looking to carry over their save data from the original to the Director's Cut can rest assured as they will have the option to do. Unfortunately, Pounder doesn't have anything further to say on this subject, though more information will become available closer to the game's launch.

Right now as part of the Lunar New Year Sale on Steam and the Epic Games Store, Death Stranding is being discounted for 70% and 65% off respectively. Purchasing the game at either of these discounts along with the Director's Cut upgrade charge can save players upwards of $13, as opposed to buying Death Stranding: Director's Cut at full price.

It is a shame that the PC release of Death Stranding: Director's Cut isn't packing any surprise crossovers as the original PC release did. However, there may still just be some special content in store as Pounder closes out the article writing, "We have some cool stuff planned for our Porters." While this most likely in regard to future community events, one can still hope that there are some last minute twists just waiting to be announced. If Cyberpunk 2077 content could come to Death Stranding well after its release, surely there are new items to be implemented.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut is available on PS5 with the PC version releasing on March 30.
