Kojima Productions revealed that actor Shioli Kutsuna will be joining its as-of-yet-unknown upcoming video game. Director Hideo Kojima posted an image with Shioli Kutsuna on both his official Twitter account and the Kojima Productions website.

Well known for creating the hugely popular Metal Gear franchise, as well as the enigmatic game Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima has been characteristically mysterious and tight-lipped about his upcoming project. So far, very few details have been released, but Hideo Kojima has been very vocal about his excitement for this new game and has been gradually revealing more and more information—like his teaser about actor Elle Fanning—about who is working on it and what it will look like.

Some fans have speculated that this game is a sequel to Death Stranding, while others think that it could be Kojima's new rumored horror game Overdose. Of course, there has been no confirmation that Kojima Productions is even working on a Death Stranding sequel, so that remains just speculation. Likewise, the upcoming project with Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna has not been confirmed to be Overdose by any official Kojima Productions sources. It seems likely that more details about this new game will continue to be shrouded in mystery regardless, however, and this is backed up by the third image in Kojima's tweet asking, "How Come?"

Hideo Kojima has a long history of producing excellent and unusual games, and Death Stranding met both of those standards, while also featuring some big names. Actors Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen were two of the most well-known names attached to Kojima Productions' debut game, so in that light, it seems that this new project could be a sequel to the innovative game. A Death Stranding fan may have discovered Elle Fanning's potential role in the upcoming game, and the connected dots seem to point to that game being a Death Stranding sequel.

So far there have not been any convoluted—or not so convoluted—clues hinting at Shioli Kutsuna's role in the potential Death Stranding sequel. The actor has had many roles in Japanese TV shows, as well as Netflix's Murder Mystery and Deadpool 2, so her moving into a main character role in a new Death Stranding would not be much of a stretch. Of course, until Kojima reveals more clues about the new project and her role in it, players will just have to speculate based on what has already been revealed.

Some people might not be a fan of Kojima's favored drawn out teaser reveal process, but overall long-time players seem to enjoy the process. Ultimately, the famous director will continue to do what he does, so fans should keep an eye out for more reveals.
