For months, there had been rumors suggesting that the Anti-Hero singer signed up to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the mutant superhero Dazzler. Alison Blaire aka Dazzler is a superheroine, who first appeared on Uncanny X-Men #130. She is often associated with X-Men and has been a fan favorite in the X-Men comics. With Marvel Studios constantly expanding its cinematic universe and introducing new characters, the idea of Swift stepping into the role of Dazzler captured the imagination of many. The Deadpool & Wolverine director was asked about the rumors, but Levy refused to give a clear response.

Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier hosted the 2024 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards on Thursday and at the event, he interviewed Levy about the rumors that Swift would appear in Deadpool & Wolverine as Dazzler. The 55-year-old director repeatedly told Frazier, "I can't answer." He acknowledged that the rumors about the cast in the film were "fabulous," but "no one will ever know the truth until July 26." However, the interviewer pressed on and asked "So tell us Swift is Dazzler?" Levy said:

That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview.

Frazier was eager to get a solid response from the director and attempted to find the answer he wanted by asking Levy again, "So Taylor Swift isn't Dazzler?" However, Levy just doubled down on his initial response and didn't confirm nor deny the rumor. Instead, he jokingly said that he would save himself; otherwise, Ryan Reynolds, who played the titular character, Deadpool, would allegedly take a hit out on him. Reynolds was also previously asked about the speculations that the billionaire pop star would appear in Deadpool 3, but he gave the same response as Levy, telling the Vancouver Sun:

I love it (the gossip). I think it is a sign of how eager people are to get a peek behind the curtain in this world. Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26.

Dazzler, a character known for her ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, has been a popular figure among X-Men fans for decades, and with Swift's musical background, she seems perfect for the role. Also, even if Swift has made a name in the music industry, she's no stranger to acting. The Grammy winner has appeared in multiple movies, including Amsterdam (2022), The Giver (2014) and Valentine's Day (2010). Many also seemingly loved the idea of Swift playing Dazzler, with some fan art depicting the singer rocking the iconic X-Men character.

The possibility of Swift making an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine is not unlikely because she's close with Reynold's wife, Blake Lively. Swift's song Betty was even named after Reynolds and Lively's 4-year old daughter. The same song also mentioned her siblings' names Inez, 7, and James, 9. Also, considering Reynold's history of featuring his pals in his movies, there is a chance that Swift will make a cameo in Deadpool 3. For instance, in his Free Guy movie, Reynolds thanked his celebrity pals Chris Evans, Channing Tatum, Hugh Jackman, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and John Krasinski for making cameos in the project, which he described as a movie "about friendship." Additionally, Swift has a huge fan base, and her participation in Deadpool 3 will likely help boost the film's performance at the box office, which Marvel badly needs after its recent movies The Marvels and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania flopped.
