The upcoming sequel sees Ryan Reynolds team up with Hugh Jackman, to reprise their iconic superhero roles. However, there has been a lot of talk about which actors could join them in the third movie in cameo appearances, especially as the popular potty-mouthed anti-hero officially joins the MCU.

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will be the co-lead in the upcoming movie, and fans are excited about seeing his character again, with the possibilities being endless for who else could make appearances. Deadpool & Wolverine will be set before the events of Logan, which saw the mutant dying at the end of the 2017 movie.

There have been a slew of actors rumored to make exciting cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine, with another classic Marvel hero potentially returning. Original Blade actor, Wesley Snipes is the latest Hollywood A-List star to be linked with an appearance, potentially reprising his role for the first time since 2004's Blade: Trinity.

If Wesley Snipes does return, it would be interesting to see him re-team with his Blade: Trinity co-star, Ryan Reynolds, and potentially feature some meta humor between the pair. The movie is currently in reshoots, and it has been revealed that these are mainly to add a bunch of cameo appearances to the mix.

Elektra has officially been announced to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, and Jennifer Garner is set to reprise her role. However, there is set to be many more cameos in the movie, some of which won't be revealed until the movie is released in theaters in July 2024. Josh Brolin recently revealed he wouldn't be making a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine in an interview with The Playlist.

[Marvel] is a more complex labyrinth than ‘Outer Range’ will ever be, my friend. And I will never know where that went or what that is or what I’m involved with or what I’m not involved with —the MCU being involved now. Cable was a lot of fun. I really liked doing that role. That was a lot of fun.

Brolin clearly would've liked to return, but it appears the situation is complicated as the actor also played the legendary villain, Thanos in 7 movies, and with Deadpool entering the Marvel Cinematic universe, it would likely muddy the waters if he appeared as Cable. However, this could be a tease, and he may still make an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, even if it was stock footage from Deadpool 2.

Whether its Stan Lee making a cameo in the form of graffiti, or the X-Men turning up and choosing to avoid Ryan Reynold's fourth wall breaking superhero, Deadpool 2 features many cameos throughout the movie. One of the most famous bunch of cameos in Deadpool 2 happened in the post credit scenes, which manage to splice characters into the movie from old footage. As much as this isn't quite as interesting as seeing actual cameos, it is still a fun part of the movie, and there's a chance Deadpool & Wolverine may go down the same path.

Surprisingly, for a movie starring Ryan Reynolds, the man himself technically makes some additional cameo appearances as well, as the dreadful version of Deadpool he played in X:Men Origins: Wolverine, using stock footage from that movie, and splicing it into Deadpool 2. The sequence works very well as it sees the more popular version of Deadpool shooting him in the head and cleaning up the timelines, as he points out. Old footage of Wolverine is also used in this sequence, with Hugh Jackman watching on as the brutal murder takes place.

Deadpool follows this brutal assassination of his older version of his eponymous character by tracking down the real Ryan Reynolds as he gets the script for Green Lantern, which would go on to be famously critically panned, and Deadpool shoots the real version of himself to prevent him from making the movie.

You're welcome, Canada

It wouldn't be a total disaster if Deadpool & Wolverine went down the same path as Deadpool 2, and featured the type of cameos that featured in that movie, as they were great fun. However, fans of the previous two movies would be disappointed if Deadpool & Wolverine didn't mix stock footage cameos with a bunch of brand-new ones as well. Regardless of who appears in the movie, fans will be gripped to their seats when the movie comes out over the summer.
