They may not be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as of now, but Logan and Deadpool can still be featured on Disney Plus since the House of Mouse technically owns all of Fox Studios' properties. Now, both Logan and Deadpool 1 and 2 will be coming to the streaming service.

To make one thing clear, Deadpool and Logan can only be watched by viewers who have set up their streaming service settings so that they can watch rated-R movies on Disney Plus. Nonetheless, it is exciting that practically all movies with Marvel properties (sans a few individual Spider-Man movies) are available to stream on one platform.

On its official Twitter account, Disney Plus announced each movie individually will be on the streaming service while making clear it is NOT a drill. Although Disney Plus started allowing more adult-oriented content when they started streaming the Marvel Netflix shows, both Logan and the Deadpool movies certainly have more specifically adult content, which includes sex, nudity, and swearing, among other things, than the Marvel Netflix shows do.

Even though Disney is largely regarded as a family-friendly company that streams family-friendly content on its streaming service, it's clear that they are not above reaching out to an adult audience. This is a pretty smart move on their part because doing so will garner more adults to subscribe to their streaming service. It ultimately levels the playing field with other services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime because now they all stream entertainment aimed specifically at adults. The real question is, will Disney start producing content adult content, or will they simply stream adult content that's already been made?

Disney already has a large enough following as it is. Knowing their reputation, they will take whatever avenue they can to get more followers while hurting their competition as much as possible, so it shouldn't shock anyone that they would go this route. However, this isn't just about getting more adult content on their streaming service or getting popular superhero movies for fans to watch. Those three movies are actually good movies, period, regardless of the genre they come in. They could easily bring in lesser quality rated-R superhero movies like The Punisher, but they brought in Logan and the Deadpool movies because they are rated-R superhero movies done the right way.

The one question everyone should be asking is, what does this mean? Is this a hint that Disney will, in fact, include Deadpool and the other X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in due time? If they do, will they include the stories established from their previous iterations or will they start anew? Given that the Deadpool movie franchise has established itself pretty well since its first installment in 2016, odds are Disney won't mess with what's working. Fans have been pining to see the X-Men combine with the Avengers, but it would be hard to integrate the X-Men's themes into the MCU. The only one who really knows what the future holds is Kevin Feige.

Logan, Deadpool, and Deadpool 2 will be available to stream on Disney Plus on July 22, 2022.
