Deadpool 3 fans are waiting with bated breath to see the on-screen chemistry between Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson when they go up against each other in the Marvel Studios film. One such fan created artwork to depict their camaraderie in the upcoming film, sending them off on “one last ride.”
Reynolds has been working with Marvel Studios to bring Deadpool 3 to life, and he was the first to reveal that Jackman's Wolverine would be a part of the project. Since the reveal, behind-the-scenes photos from the film sets have emerged, showing Wolverine in his comic-accurate costume and possibly a brawl between the two heroes. However, in the fan art that has received thousands of likes from Instagram users, the heroes seem to be getting along just fine, displaying a rather epic bromance.
An artist on Instagram, who goes by the username @Spdrmnkyxxiii, creates and shares his artwork based on popular Hollywood projects. Most of his work is a take on Marvel and DC films, and he shared his fun take on the relationship between Wolverine and Deadpool. In the first artwork, Wolverine carries Deadpool, with the caption highlighting “the buddy comedy road trip movie of the Century.” The artist is glad that fans finally get to see Wolverine's comic-accurate yellow suit in Deadpool 3, and “all the wishful thinking and manifestation has paid off.”
The second Deadpool 3 artwork shared by the artist features the duo riding a motorcycle, seemingly flying off a cliff. Jackman's Wolverine smokes a cigar, and Reynolds' Deadpool shoots a gun. The artist revealed that the artwork was an homage to the behind-the-scenes Deadpool 3 set photos of the two actors fighting in their costumes, and he believes it looks like a “panel ripped straight out of a comic book.” Ever since the photos of the duo were revealed, a lot of fan art has emerged online to honor Wolverine's comic-accurate look that fans have been waiting to see for many years.
While Deadpool 3 plot is still being kept under wraps, there were initial talks about how this would be a road-trip project, and later there were theories about how the two heroes would team up to defeat a common enemy. With both characters officially being integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans also assume there will be references to the Multiverse.
Deadpool 3 is scheduled to release in theaters on May 3, 2024.
