The internet has been buzzing with set photos of Deadpool 3, featuring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman donning their respective comic-accurate superhero outfits as Deadpool and Wolverine. The highly-anticipated film will be Deadpool's official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though it's expected to pay tribute to Marvel's film history under the 20th Century Fox studio.

Already, the film is expected to feature some familiar faces from 20th Century Fox's Marvel movies, including Jennifer Garner as Elektra in addition to Hugh Jackman reprising his role as the one and only live-action Wolverine. However, there are many other characters from both the Fox Marvel movies and the main MCU films, who could show up during this upcoming comedic superhero adventure.

10 Ben Affleck's Daredevil

Although Charlie Cox is set to play the role of Daredevil in his own Disney+ series, the Matt Murdock that could appear in Deadpool 3 might be a different actor. Given that Jennifer Garner will be appearing as Elektra, Deadpool 3 may see a return for Ben Affleck's version of the character from the 2003 film.

In a surprise twist to fans, perhaps both versions of the character will appear alongside each other opposite Ryan Reynold's Merc With A Mouth. It would be a fun Easter egg for fans of the Netflix Daredevil series who want even more of Cox's Matt Murdock, while also doing justice to the poorly-received Affleck version of the character, especially since Affleck's time in the sun as one of the best live-action Batman performances has now passed onto Robert Pattinson, and whoever takes the cowl in James Gunn's DCU.

9 Professor X

Stewart as Professor X in Doctor Strange

Like Hugh Jackman, many fans thought Patrick Stewart was done playing the role of Charles Xavier after 2017's Logan. However, the actor surprisingly reprised his role in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, appearing as a member of an alternate reality's Illuminati who is killed by the Scarlet Witch.

Given Stewart's positive working relationship with Hugh Jackman, and his clear enjoyment of Charles Xavier, it makes sense that the actor could also return to Deadpool 3 in either a cameo or extended role in the film. Additionally, perhaps this would be another opportunity to showcase Patrick Stewart's Professor X alongside James McAvoy's from the X-Men reboots or re-unite respectable rivals...

8 Magneto

McKellan as Magneto in X-Men

Similarly to Patrick Stewart's Professor X, Ian McKellan's Magneto is one of the most iconic villains from Fox's Marvel movie lineup. It'd be a pretty big demand from fans to see McKellan share the screen with Stewart once more, as the two real-life friends played opposite each other in the original Fox X-Men movies for many years.

Like James McAvoy, this could also be an opportunity for Michael Fassbender to reprise his role as a younger Magneto. Additionally, introducing Magneto into the MCU may have huge consequences, considering that the mutant is deeply connected to the Scarlet Witch in the comic books and an instrumental figure in the rise of the Mutants.

7 Mr. Fantastic

fantastic four main characters

Although The Fantastic Four are set to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 6, John Krasinski briefly made a cameo appearance as the smartest and stretchiest man alive in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Unfortunately, Krasinski's tenure in the role was short-lived, considering he was brutally murdered by the Scarlet Witch before he could do anything more than stretch an arm out.

However, to pay tribute to the Fox Marvel movies, Reed Richards that could show up in Deadpool 3 could be played by Ioan Gruffudd, reprising his role from the 2005 film. Maybe he'll even appear with his fellow Fantastic Four members played by Jessica Alba and Michael Chiklis, though seeing Chris Evans not as Captain America might be confusing to some, and comedic to others.

6 Storm

Berry as Storm using her powers in X-Men

Halle Berry played the role of Storm, the weather-manipulating mutant, in the Fox X-Men movies. Alexandra Shipp also played a younger version of the character in the reboot films, including X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. However, her comic book iteration is known to be one of the most popular female Marvel characters in their history.

There's even heavy speculation that Halle Berry is already set to return to the role, given a recent social media photo she posted where she sports Storm's iconic silver hair. Since filming for Deadpool 3 is still going on, Halle Berry may have already secretly filmed her part, which would be her first reprisal of the character since X-Men: Days of Future Past.

5 Jean Grey

X-Men Famke Janssen Jean Grey

Fox never seemed to nail the iconic Dark Phoenix storyline from Marvel Comics into their films. They first tried adapting it in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, where Famke Janssen plays the corrupted version of Jean Grey known as the Phoenix. Sophie Turner also portrayed the evil version of the character in the reboot films X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.

Hopefully, the character returning to Deadpool 3 could somehow do justice to this beloved comic book storyline. Furthermore, Jean Grey is notably one of the most powerful women in the Marvel universe, so it would be a delight to hardcore comic book fans to see her done right in an MCU Multiverse project.

4 X-23

Keen as X-23 in the woods in Logan

The last time Hugh Jackman's Wolverine appeared on-screen in Logan, the aging mutant was helping a young girl named Laura find asylum in a refuge known as Eden. Logan later discovers that Laura, played by Dafne Keen, is his biological daughter, who also can grow adamantium claws from her knuckles, which she uses in a violent degree worthy of the Wolverine mantle.

Given that many X-Men fans found Logan a true tearjerking send-off to Jackman's character, having Keen reprise her role as X-23 in Deadpool 3 would be a good way to tie together the tragedy of Jackman's previous appearance with the expected hilarity that will come when he shares the screen again with Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson.

3 She-Hulk

Maslany as She-Hulk in a t-shirt

Tatiana Maslany is one of the newest additions to the MCU, appearing as lawyer-turned-Hulk Jennifer Walters in Disney+'s She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law. What makes her a likely candidate to show up in Deadpool 3, however, is that she's the only other Marvel Cinematic Universe character who breaks the fourth wall regularly during her on-screen appearances.

Knowing the kinds of situations Deadpool tends to get himself in, it wouldn't be surprising to see the character end up needing legal representation. Plus, it'd be a great opportunity to combine the comedic chops of Ryan Reynolds with the on-screen charisma of Tatiana Maslany, which for many people made She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law worth watching.

2 Mobius M. Mobius

Wilson as Mobius in Loki

According to rumors, Deadpool 3 will find Wade Wilson encountering the Time Variance Authority, who originated in the comics and first appeared in the MCU in Disney Plus' Loki. One member of the TVA that fans would be excited to see in Deadpool 3 is Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, who teams up with Loki to expose the organization's secrets.

As established in the finale of Loki season 1, there are other Mobius variants in the split universe, which means one could appear in Deadpool 3 without contradicting the events of Loki season 2. Furthermore, it would be a funny follow-up to the ending of Deadpool 2, where the character time-travels and alters events from the past.

1 Doctor Doom

McMahon as Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four

Given that Deadpool 3 is going to be more grounded in the mainline MCU, the film might feature events that ripple throughout future projects. With 20th Century Fox in mind, this means Deadpool 3 could be the highly-anticipated introduction to Victor von Doom, who will hopefully be an important character when it comes to Avengers: Secret Wars in Phase 6.

Notably, Doctor Doom is a frequent villain of The Fantastic Four, but some fans think the character might be too big and complex to simply introduce that late into the Multiverse Saga. It would make for an unexpected yet surprising conclusion to a film as light-hearted as Deadpool 3 if the next Thanos-level threat in the MCU shows up for the first time.
