Fans have been theorizing about Hugh Jackman's first comic-accurate Wolverine costume in Deadpool 3, but the latest rumor about the suit has excited fans.

Although Deadpool 3 will likely be delayed due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, fans are still anxiously awaiting the Merc With a Mouth's return. Rumors abound that the MCU will use Deadpool 3 to officially introduce the X-Men, one of Marvel's most famous superhero teams. Although fans are excited about the possibilities, much of the excitement is tied to Jackman's return as the Wolverine, especially after set photos confirmed Wolverine is finally getting a comic-accurate costume. Although the Wolverine costume wasn’t sleeveless, it featured the character's classic yellow and blue color scheme.

The anticipation to see the new suit in action reached another high when X user CanWeGetSomeToast announced posted a new update. "I can confirm with ABSOLUTE certainty that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will indeed have a comic-accurate mask with big fins AND white eyes in Deadpool 3," they wrote. The post was accompanied by the cover of Steve McNiven's Return of Wolverine #1 to give an idea of what the mask might look like.

There hasn’t been a confirmation of Wolverine's mask yet, as it hasn’t been seen in any Deadpool 3 set photos. Fans speculate that the Deadpool 3 team is waiting to reveal how Wolverine looks in his iconic mask in the first trailer. Unfortunately, fans will have to keep waiting, as there’s been no news about when the first Deadpool 3 trailer might be released.

Fans might be most excited to see Wolverine's famous suit, but Deadpool 3 promises more than a comic-accurate costume for the mutant superhero. According to Ryan Reynolds, “What we pitched [Hugh Jackman] was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he's left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play.” Although Jackman has become synonymous with Wolverine since he picked up the mantle more than 20 years ago, many anticipate Deadpool 3 will feature the most exciting, authentic version of the Canadian mutant.

Of course, Wolverine isn’t the only thing worth getting excited about in Deadpool 3. From new characters who might make an appearance to a possible connection to Disney Plus' Loki, Deadpool 3 is likely to draw large crowds when it releases.

Deadpool 3 is set to release on May 3, 2024.
