Deadline reports Marvel Studios hoped to resume Deadpool 3 filming in January 2024. However, this plan looks less likely each day the strike continues. As of the morning of October 29, 2023, SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have not closed a new three-year contract. However, even if a new agreement was signed soon, the initial report on the Deadpool 3 release date delay noted that reassembling the cast and crew right away wouldn't be possible. Consequently, even if Deadpool 3 can resume filming in the first half of 2024, a release date delay would not be avoided.
Deadpool 3's delay is upsetting information for fans because the film is expected to lay the groundwork for Marvel Studios' Avengers: Secret Wars adaptation.
