E3 2021, the Summer Game Fest, and other mid-year gaming events will be starting soon. Deep Silver, as well as its parent company Koch Media, have big plans for this year. A website named WeKnowSomethingYouDontKnow.com has cropped up, hinting at some major upcoming announcements. But as exciting as building hype can be, maintaining healthy expectations is also important. With that in mind, Deep Silver has issued a statement confirming several game franchises that won't be part of this year's festivities.

In a message posted on Twitter, Deep Silver confirmed that four of its most popular and successful franchises won't be shown as part of this year's June events. Those franchises are Dead Island, Saints Row, Metro, and TimeSplitters. They won't be part of E3 2021, they won't be part of the Summer Game Fest, and they won't be a part of any other event going on at the same time. All Deep Silver can say about these franchises is that it'll let fans know as soon as there's anything to announce.

Deep Silver's statement cuts through some of the biggest rumors swirling ahead of E3. The most substantial like has to do with a possible Saints Row 5 announcement. A "leaked" map has been shared across social media, though it's likely fake, leading to speculation about a new game announcement. TimeSplitters has also been in the news lately. Deep Silver confirmed in May that a new TimeSplitters game was starting development. Clearly, it's much too early for that game to be revealed, however.

Suffice to say, there were some big Deep Silver rumors going around that had the possibility of knocking the feet out from under the publisher's actual E3 plans. If fans are expecting Deep Silver's biggest IP to be shown and they aren't, it'll overshadow the newer/smaller IP regardless of how exciting it may be.

Even without Saints Row, Dead Island, Metro, or TimeSplitters, Deep Silver says to expect some exciting announcements. The Koch Media Summer Game Fest event is scheduled to air on June 11 at noon PT. Deep Silver, as well as other Koch Media subsidiaries like Flying Wild Hog, Ravenscourt, and Vertigo Games, will have plenty of other reveals to look forward to.

Games that could make an appearance during the show include Deep Silver's Chorus, Flying Wild Hog's Shadow Warrior 3, Maneater's Truth Quest DLC, and smaller projects like Night is Coming, Dice Legacy, Iron Harvest, or Siege Survival: Gloria Victis. And those are just upcoming Koch Media games that are already known, so expect plenty of surprises, too. Just don't expect some of these Deep Silver favorites.
