All Melee Weapon Profiles in Dead Island 2
Different situations call for different solutions, and in terms of having the right melee weapon to do the job, there are four broad weapon profiles in the game to help Slayers find the right mix.
Maiming Weapons
One of the best ways to check out the FLESH system in action during the game, Maiming weapons are meant to do as their name suggests - maim zombies with ease - and as a bonus, all hits on any of the limbs will automatically result in a Critical Hit. Equipped with these weapons, Slayers can also keep the pressure up as maiming helps regain extra stamina. They can also be useful in strategically injuring zombies to reduce their attacks or for more efficient harvesting of parts which will help with weapon modding.
Frenzy Weapons
For those that prefer fast and furious attacks, Frenzy weapons dish out fast and unrelenting attacks, with speed taking precedence over accuracy. Be sure to take advantage of the faster charge-up of heavy attacks, and the more hits in a row, the faster the attack rate. This will culminate in a short period of time when all hits deal critical damage.
Bulldozer Weapons
With crowds of enemies being a common sight in Dead Island 2, having a Bulldozer weapon will be vital to clear waves of zombies with ease. This is a particular weapon profile made for all Slayers that like significant damage, where heavy attacks are always Critical Hits and deal extra stability damage. Even Apex Variants can be made vulnerable swiftly, and when thrown, such weapons will damage all zombies near the target.
Headhunter Weapons
On the flip side, Headhunter weapons were designed for precise strikers, with every hit to the head of the zombies dealing substantial damage, including any thrown attacks. For a quick boost to agility, pull off a heavy attack, and it helps that there is no slowdown during the charging up as well. Get in and out quickly and become an undead surgeon.
By having complementary weapons that fit a play style and synergistic Skills in the Skill Deck, Dead Island 2 will become even more of a fun time against the never-ending hordes of flesh-eating monsters.
