Dead Cells, frequently regarded as one of the best games of 2018, is still receiving content updates more than two years after the game's launch. Developers Motion Twin and Evil Empire dropped the Dead Cells "Barrels o' Fun" update on Wednesday as the game's 20th update. Steam users can download it now, while Dead Cells players on console will have to wait until later this summer.

Like most Dead Cells updates, players can expect a massive amount of new content to play. The Barrels o' Fun update features a new biome, new weapons, enemies, and more, as well as something extra special. Dead Cells' soundtrack has been remixed entirely in 8-bit/chiptune by original composer Yoann Laulan. The new soundtrack can be enabled in Dead Cells' sound options.

Specifically, Barrels o' Fun adds the following content. The new Derelict Distillery biome is an alternative to the High Peak Castle biome and is available from the Collector. Two items have also been added -- the medium-ranged turret, the Tesla Coil, and the explosive Barrel Launcher. There are also around 15 balance changes, as well as a handful of Quality of Life changes and bug fixes.

Just because this is the 20th update for Dead Cells, a true celebration of the game's two-year anniversary since launch, doesn't mean that new content isn't still in the pipeline. If anything, the Dead Cells updates are coming faster than ever. Dead Cells update 19 dropped in July, after all. Perhaps even more Dead Cells content will arrive in September.

Dead Cells is available now on PC, Ps4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
