Many fans have recently been able to play Dead by Daylight's newest DLC chapter: "Silent Hill" with its recent release. This DLC includes characters from Konami's Silent Hill series including Cheryl Mason as a survivor and Pyramid Head as a killer.
What some Dead by Daylight players may not know is that a piece from another famous Konami series makes a cameo appearance in an Easter Egg. This would be Vic Viper, the player spaceship from Gradius, which makes an appearance as an unlockable charm for both killers and survivors alike.
In order to get this special piece of game history as a charm, players need to utilize the famous Konami code. Here's how to do it.
For those who aren't aware, the Konami Code is a famous cheat code that has made appearances in many Konami games since the 80's. Because this code appeared in so many Konami games, it became known as the Konami Code. The first game to have the Konami Code was Gradius, which is why that is the charm unlocked when the code is inputted in Dead by Daylight.
Traditionally, the code is Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, and Start in that order. However, game controllers have changed over the years, and with Dead by Daylight, inputting the code is a little different.
Before attempting the code there are two things to note. The first thing is that the "Silent Hill" DLC Chapter needs to be purchased and installed for this to work. The second thing is that as of June 16, 2020, this Easter Egg doesn't seem to work on console versions of Dead by Daylight. For now, these are the PC instructions on inputting the Konami Code.
Players first need to be on the main menu of Dead by Daylight. This is where players can select which mode they want to play, not the title screen. While on this screen, players need to enter in order:

- S
- S
- A
- D
- A
- D
- Right Mouse Click
- Left Mouse Click
- Enter
In order to enter the code, players need to do their inputs very quickly. There is no penalty for failure and they can try to input the code as many times as they want. Players will know if they've succeeded if they suddenly hear music from Gradius play. They can then check their charms to see the Vic Viper charm in their possession. This charm can be used by both killers and survivors to show off their game history knowledge.
