Behaviour Interactive has released Dead by Daylight update 8.0.2, addressing various issues that emerged following the Dungeons and Dragons chapter. This latest update aims to refine gameplay, enhance map layouts, and fix several bugs to improve the overall Dead by Daylight player experience.

Dead by Daylight is a co-op horror game where one player assumes the role of a killer while four others play as survivors. The killer's objective is to hunt down and sacrifice the survivors to a malevolent entity, while the survivors must work together to repair generators that power escape gates. Each match is set in a procedurally generated environment filled with obstacles and hiding spots, providing a unique experience each time. The game features a variety of characters, including iconic horror movie villains, each with distinct abilities and playstyles.

With a new licenced Survivor on the horizon, Tomb Raider is speculated to make an appearance in the next Chapter of Dead by Daylight.

Some of the changes introduced in Dead by Daylight update 8.0.2 affect the Forgotten Ruins map, ensuring that a minimum of four hooks will always be available in the dungeon section. Additionally, passage locations have been adjusted to prevent them from being directly beside vaults and pallets, aiming to balance the map’s navigation. Passage interaction times have also been tweaked; for Dead by Daylight survivors, the time has been extended by 0.15 seconds, while for killers, it has been shortened by 0.25 seconds, ensuring a fairer and more thrilling chase dynamic.

Dead by Daylight’s killer called The Lich has seen several adjustments to his abilities and add-ons. The Mage Hand pallet lifting time has been increased from 0.35 seconds to 0.5 seconds, providing survivors with a slightly better chance to react. The volume of the Flight of the Damned skeleton spawn has been increased, giving survivors better awareness of impending threats. Meanwhile, the Vorpal Sword add-on now increases the time to break a pallet from 2.2 seconds to 3.2 seconds, making it a more tactical choice for Lich players.

Several critical fixes for bugs introduced in Dead by Daylight’s Dungeons and Dragons chapter have also been implemented. For example, in the Anniversary event, an issue causing some visual effects to appear late when a distant player approached has been fixed. The gold glitter visual effect from canceling an Invitation Pillar interaction no longer lingers incorrectly, and the Dancing Marionettes no longer clip through the ceilings of the Underground Complex. Survivors’ pools of blood now remain visible for a more appropriate duration after the “Quiet Mode” ability’s effect ends, enhancing visual feedback during gameplay.

The update also addresses miscellaneous issues, such as medkits now fully depleting when self-healing to 100% with no add-ons, and the Entity window blocking effects now working as intended after three consecutive rushed vaults. By addressing these issues and making targeted improvements, the developer aims to ensure a more enjoyable Dead by Daylight experience for all players.
