Dead by Daylight has added two new cosmetics inspired by Silent Hill 3 to its game, one of which is for Cheryl Mason. Dead by Daylight players can obtain the outfits through purchasing them from the store using Auric Cells, an in-game currency obtained in exchange for real money.

The team behind Dead by Daylight first collaborated with Konami in 2020 for its fourth anniversary, creating a Silent Hill chapter that saw Cheryl Mason and Pyramid Head arrive in the realm of the Entity as playable characters. Alongside them came a map, Midwich Elementary School. Subsequent characters from the Silent Hill franchise were then added to the game through a new tier of cosmetics that, when equipped, allowed those using the Cheryl Mason character to play as either Lisa Garland, Cybil Bennett, or James Sunderland.

More recently, Dead by Daylight announced on Twitter that it would be adding two new cosmetics inspired by Silent Hill, with one of them going to Cheryl Mason herself. The Princess Heart outfit is one of the more memorable outfits from Silent Hill 3, and now it is coming to Dead by Daylight as a cosmetic option. Alongside Cheryl's new outfit comes a separate Princess Heart cosmetic for Feng Min, a character original to Dead by Daylight who is notorious for receiving an excessive amount of skins due to her popularity. Both cosmetics are now available to purchase directly from Dead by Daylight's in-game shop.

While many fans were glad to see Cheryl Mason receive such an iconic cosmetic after going several months without any, some players have voiced their displeasure at seeing Feng Min receive yet another skin, having recently received her own S.T.A.R.S cosmetic alongside Resident Evil's own Jill Valentine. While the in-game lore explaining Feng's abundance of licensed cosmetics is that she simply enjoys cosplay and makes them herself, some unhappy fans have accused the team behind Dead by Daylight of giving her excessive attention at the expense of other characters. However, it is highly likely that the revenue generated from the surplus of skins for Feng Min will also likely go towards future Dead by Daylight projects and collaborations.

Regardless of whether they plan to purchase the skins or not, this will be good news to fans as it illustrates that Konami and Dead by Daylight, who are also currently working together on Silent Hill Ascension, will likely continue to collaborate on future Dead by Daylight content.

Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
