Traditionally, horror games have been a solo endeavor, which tends to create a much more isolated, and therefore terrifying, experience. However, over the past few years, there's been a shift towards multiplayer titles, with the likes of Phasmophobia and Dead by Daylight generating lots of replay value for fans. The latter in particular has seen a consistent stream of updates and bug fixes, and the game's studio, Behavior Interactive, recently rolled out its latest patch.

Those who regularly play Dead by Daylight may have already started seeing version 6.1.0 going live. A post on the official Steam page outlines what is, quite frankly, a laundry list of tweaks, fixes, and quality-of-life improvements to the game. One thing that has been given an adjustment is the generator repair, which now takes 90 seconds as opposed to 80. Some of the killer actions, like kicking a pallet, have had their speeds increased, and there have been a lot of perks added and reworked for both the killers and survivors.

In addition to this, the patch notes on Steam say that the developer has added five maze tiles for the McMillan Estate level. The game frequently gets updates, with at least one major patch going live each month. An update in June saw Dead by Daylight add The Dredge, its latest and perhaps most terrifying killer. While there are a lot of villains lifted from popular culture, such as Freddy Krueger and Pyramid Head, there are also plenty of original monsters for players to jump into the shoes of.

Dead by Daylight revealed its Year 7 Roadmap last month, which outlines what's coming to the game, such as new chapters and events, as well as the continued support from the studio. With such a regular update schedule and the replayability of the game itself, it's hardly surprising that it's still a winning horror title for many, especially in the streaming community,

Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
