Dead by Daylight has released the official trailer for Chapter 26, featuring a new survivor, killer, and map. The chapter, titled "Forged in Fog," is scheduled for release later this month, but a beta version is currently available to play on Dead by Daylight's public test build, which allows players to test new Dead by Daylight content prior to full release.

When Dead by Daylight and For Honor announced a crossover, many players were confused as to why Dead by Daylight only included a single charm cosmetic for its part of the collaboration while For Honor added several skins inspired by Dead by Daylight killers. The latest update to the game, however, takes heavy inspiration from For Honor in its new killer, referred to as The Knight.

Chapter 26, which will release on November 22, 2022, has immediately made itself out to be the most unique Dead by Daylight has seen thus far, with new killer The Knight challenging the typical 1v4 nature of the asymmetrical genre through his ability to summon and cycle through three AI guards who can assist him in different aspects of the trial. While the Assassin specializes at catching survivors during the hunt, the Jailor is better at patrolling areas and defending generators, and the Carnifex specializes in breaking and damaging objects faster. Accompanying the killer is a new survivor, Vittorio Toscano, and a new map known as "The Shattered Square," which resembles a battlefield the likes of which one might find when playing For Honor.

The trailer for the latest chapter opens with the new survivor, Vittorio, breaking a hex totem when he suddenly senses a presence behind him, turning around to see The Knight approaching. Hearing another noise, Vittorio turns to see three iron-clad figures surrounding him. Upon being given the command by their superior, these three figures chase after a terrified Vittorio.

As suggested by the trailer and confirmed within the Dead by Daylight public test build on steam, The Knight is able to summon and command the Jailor, Assassin and Carnifex at will. Chapter 26 will also shake up the meta by bringing new killer perks to Dead by Daylight. Nowhere To Hide will reveal survivor auras near the killer's position when they kick a generator, Hubris will expose survivors when they stun the killer, and Hex: Face The Darkness will cause survivors outside the killer's terror radius to scream intermittently. Vittorio Toscano, the new survivor, will also bring three new survivor perks to the game. Potential Energy will allow players to store up and transfer generator progress, Fogwise will reveal the killer's aura when hitting a great skill check, and Quick Gambit will speed up generator repair speed when being chased nearby.

With The Knight set out to be a difficult killer to master, being able to command three AI-controlled guards that specialize in different aspects of the game, Chapter 26 of Dead by Daylight represents a new advancement in the asymmetrical genre and will be a must-play for any killers looking to change the tides against those pesky survivors when it becomes available for all on November 22, 2022.

Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
