Dead by Daylight is celebrating the Lunar New Year in a big way with the Moonlight Burrow event. Throughout the duration of the event, an array limited-time skins will become purchasable and several new mechanics will be added to Dead by Daylight.

Dead by Daylight is no stranger to events, preferring to spice up gameplay throughout the year by adding new gameplay elements to celebrate occasions such as Halloween and Christmas. Most recently, the Dead by Daylight Bone Chill event took place throughout the festive season, allowing players to hide in Snowmen scattered throughout the trial grounds. Just over a week since the conclusion of the Bone Chill event, another event has begun in celebration of the Year of the Rabbit.

The Moonlight Burrow event commences 11:00 ET, January 24th, 2023, and will last until 11:00 ET, February 7th, 2023. During this time, an array of elements from previous Lunar New Year celebrations will be added to the game, such as Lunar-themed generators and Red Envelopes. When a survivor interacts with their red envelope, which they can see the aura of if they bring a Lunar-themed offering, it becomes visible to all other survivors within the trial. When another survivor interacts with it, both they and the envelope's owner are rewarded with Bloodpoints, and the owner will also receive one of 10 Lunar cosmetics, as was the case with past Dead by Daylight Lunar events.

The Moonlight Burrow will also introduce an entirely new item - Paper Lanterns. These items will spawn in unused totem spots at the start of a trial and can be interacted with by both killers and survivors, granting them a set of buffs in a manner similar to pumpkins from Dead by Daylight's most recent Halloween Event. The Moonlight Burrow cosmetic collection will also hit the store at sometime on January 24th, featuring limited-time cosmetics for Vittorio and Feng Min that can only be purchased while the event is active. In addition to this, promo codes will be shared via Twitter in the coming days, allowing players to get their hands on previous Lunar cosmetics for Dwight, Jane, and David. If this wasn't enough, there will also be daily login rewards in the form of further cosmetics for both killer and survivor.

With the event also coinciding with the introduction of several Quality of Life changes to Dead by Daylight, now is a better time than any for players to get back into the game. Whether killer or survivor, the event boasts enjoyable elements for both sides.

Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
