Highlights

  • Dead by Daylight remains one of the most popular multiplayer games, with a variety of original and crossover characters to choose from.
  • Fans have been requesting Pennywise, Jason Vorhees, Jack Torrance, and Predator as potential crossover characters in the game.
  • The addition of characters like Homelander from The Boys could expand Dead by Daylight's crossovers and introduce new abilities and gameplay dynamics.

While there have been many like it over the last few years, none have stood the test of time quite like the original, and even now, seven years after its initial release, Dead by Daylight is still one of the most popular online multiplayer games out there. An asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, Dead by Daylight pits one Killer against a team of four Survivors, and both sides of the fence have plenty of characters to choose from, both wholly original to Dead by Daylight, and those who have crossed over from a variety of other popular horror IPs.

While some of Dead by Daylight's most powerful and enjoyable Killers to play are completely original creations, such as The Nurse or The Blight, the game's most popular Killers tend to be those guest characters, and Dead by Daylight has no shortage of them. From horror movie icons like Freddy Krueger and the Xenomorph to crossovers with other popular horror video games like Resident Evil, Dead by Daylight is already home to some of the best crossover characters around, but there's always room for more.

Pennywise is Still Dead by Daylight's Most Requested Crossover Killer

Pennywise In IT

One of the most frequently requested crossover characters for Dead by Daylight is It's Pennywise the Clown. Technically an interdimensional being that feasts on fear, Pennywise is a perfect fit for Dead by Daylight, and while a spooky clown is already on the roster, the two wouldn't really share much. Being one of the most requested crossovers of the last few years, fans already have some great ideas for how Pennywise would work in Dead by Daylight, including potential abilities that let him disguise himself as another Killer at the start of the game to catch players off-guard, and an ability to fill a fear meter in a similar way to Michael Myers' Stalk mode.

Jason Vorhees Would Just Make Sense for Dead by Daylight

With Friday the 13th: The Game getting ready to shut down its servers at the end of the year, there's never been a better time for the slasher icon Jason Vorhees to come to Dead by Daylight. Though it might take a little more effort on Behaviour Interactive's part to make Jason stand out in Dead by Daylight, he'd be a great addition to the roster, being one of the last classic horror icons to make it to the game.

Dead by Daylight Could Make Great Use of Jack Torrance

One of the more unlikely picks on this list, The Shining's Jack Torrance has the potential to actually be an incredibly unique Dead by Daylight Killer. Armed with his trusty axe, Jack Torrance could be given a number of abilities in Dead by Daylight, ranging from a frenzy meter that builds up gradually during the game and eventually gives him increased speed and power, to the ability to speak to The Entity directly to locate the Survivors. Of course, Jack Torrance would be nothing without the Overlook Hotel, and that location is perfectly suited for a Dead by Daylight map.

Predator Coming to Dead by Daylight Is Only a Matter of Time

Predator in Aliens vs. Predator

Dead by Daylight's most recent crossover was with Ridley Scott's Alien, and where the Xenomorph goes, the Predator isn't usually too far behind. When it comes to abilities, Dead by Daylight's Predator would have a wealth of possibilities. The Predator could be given the unique opportunity to wield multiple weapons at once, including his Combi-Stick, Smart Disc, Shoulder Canon, and wrist blade. The Predator could also be equipped with his infrared vision, letting him see through environmental objects and structures.

Dead by Daylight Could Branch Out With Homelander

Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander

Right now, The Boys is crossing over with a bunch of video games, and it might as well extend that out to Dead by Daylight. Though he doesn't immediately fit with the game's horror theme, The Boys' Homelander is definitely a terrifying character, and it would be really interesting to see Dead by Daylight branch out a little with its crossovers. Ability-wise, Homelander could come with some kind of flight capabilities, along with his laser vision.

Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
