Horror icons Michael Myers and Laurie Strode will finally be added to the PlayStation 4 version of Dead by Daylight this Friday, August 25. The news was confirmed by the game's creators through their recent developer's stream.

Myers and Strode are included in the Dead by Daylight Halloween add-on, which is themed after the classic film. The DLC adds a new killer, a new survivor, and a new map. The DLC is already available for PC owners, and PS4 players have been waiting for their chance to stalk the streets of Haddonfield or run through them in terror.

Currently, there is no word on when the Halloween DLC will be available on Xbox One. The game's developers confirmed they are still in the process of getting the content certified, but there is no release date yet.

If a player wants to step into the shoes of Michael Myers, they might notice his name isn't on the roster. Instead, they'll need to look for The Shape, which is a reference to his name in the credits of the first and second films. It's also how John Carpenter referred to Myers in the original script.

In the game, Myers has an obsession mechanic that lets him focus on a survivor and hunt them down relentlessly. He receives perks depending on whether his obsession is alive or not, which range from faster attacks to increased movement speed. On the survivor's end, Laurie Strode has a higher chance of survival the more friends that die, has one guaranteed escape per match, and a perk that allows her to see the killer's aura if she is their obsession.

The most recent DLC to hit Dead by Daylight was Lullaby for the Dark, which introduces a new killer, The Huntress, who dons an eerie rabbit mask and wields throwing axes. She also comes with a new map called Mother's Dwelling, and a new survivor, David King.

Dead by Daylight is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
