  • With Roxanne Wolf's potential inclusion, Five Nights at Freddy's could finally make its debut in Dead by Daylight.

Five Nights at Freddy's has long been requested for a Dead by Daylight crossover, and one piece of the puzzle may have fallen into place. Dead by Daylight has been making an impressive showing of collecting some of the most famous horror IPs around. Five Nights at Freddy's may not be as legendary as the properties that are already in the game, but it's an undeniably big name, especially considering its recent movie. While it has yet to appear in Dead by Daylight, recent developments could give the series a better chance to make its debut in the multiplayer title.

The amount of crossovers in Dead by Daylight have made the game into a valuable commodity. It has become to horror franchises what Super Smash Bros. is to Nintendo characters, bringing some of the biggest names under a single umbrella. From film classics like Halloween to games like Resident Evil, Behavior's ability to get these major IPs has proven to be one of the game's biggest boons. While Dead by Daylight's original characters are also good, it's the crossovers that really help raise the game's profile, especially when big franchises get involved. Dead by Daylight's future will likely include many more of these major horror crossovers.

Roxanne Wolf Could Help Bring Five Nights at Freddy's Into Dead by Daylight

Five Nights at Freddy's is Highly Requested for Dead by Daylight

One highly requested horror IP to join Dead by Daylight is Five Nights at Freddy's. While the series itself is somewhat divisive, there is no question that it is one of the genre's more successful recent entries. Five Nights at Freddy's already had some solid entries for killer, both with the titular Freddy as well as the insidious Springtrap. However, all previous protagonists were either faceless or children, making them ineligible to join Dead by Daylight as a Survivor. While Killer-only crossovers have happened before, lacking any real survivors could have been seen as an obstacle keeping Five Nights at Freddy's out.

Roxanne Wolf gives Five Nights at Freddy's a Real Survivor Candidate

Five Nights at Freddy's may have solved this issue, though. After the heartbreaking story of Security Breach's RUIN DLC, one of the animatronics, Roxanne Wolf, has her true colors shown. Although originally shown as overconfident and somewhat abrasive, Roxy is shown to actually be kind at heart, as shown through her being sweet to Cassie when her friends didn't show up to her birthday party. Roxy even shows up to protect Cassie against The Mimic in the finale, making her a rare animatronic that assists a hero. These traits make Roxy a possible contender to represent the game as a Survivor.

Taking original Killer The Singularity into account, Roxy's inclusion as a Survivor would put a robotic character on both sides of Dead by Daylight 's roster.

Roxy Could Be Dead by Daylight's Most Unexpected Survivor

Of course, turning Roxanne Wolf into a Survivor would require some creative license. All the current Survivors in Dead by Daylight are human, including the clone Gabriel Soma. Roxy would need to be scaled down a little to be similar in size to the other Survivors, and the mechanic of blood pools from injured Survivors could be awkward since she's a robot. However, they could be explained or repurposed as oil pools, similar to Robocop from Mortal Kombat 11. Even with a few irregularities, Roxanne is the best chance yet for Five Nights at Freddy's to get a Survivor into Dead by Daylight.

There have always been potential Dead by Daylight killers from Five Nights at Freddy's. However, now there is potential for it to be the next big Dead by Daylight crossover, with both sides of the roster getting a representative. It helps that Roxanne Wolf is already a popular character, especially since her expanded role in the RUIN DLC shone more light on her and her true personality. Roxy may have finally cleared the way for Five Nights at Freddy's to join Dead by Daylight.
