June 3 saw the developer officially release Chapter 32 across all versions of the game, including those for PC, mobile, and the latest two console generations. The Dungeons and Dragons update introduces a new Dead by Daylight Killer in the form of The Lich, Vecna, voiced by Matt Mercer of Critical Role fame. Vecna's design is as intricate as the game's Killers get, with the iconic necromancer having access to no fewer than four unique abilities based on Dungeons and Dragons spells. One of them makes him fly, allowing the necromancer to quickly cover large distances. Another, called Dispelling Sphere, serves as an area-of-effect life detector of sorts, which is itself undetectable by Survivors.

Dead by Daylight Chapter 32: Dungeons and Dragons Overview

  • New Killer: Vecna, The Lich
  • New Survivors: elf bard Aestri Yazar and human bard Baermar Uraz
  • New Map: Forgotten Ruins

Vecna also has access to Mage Hand, a famous Dungeons and Dragons spell that allows him to tag interactive obstacles, or Pallets, in the game's jargon. If a Pallet is already raised, the ability will block its use for a few seconds, slowing down any fleeing Survivors. Mage Hand will otherwise raise any inactive Pallets that it comes in contact with. Flight of the Damned completes Vecna's arsenal, allowing the Killer to conjure five flying spectral monstrosities that deal damage in a cone-shaped radius.

As is tradition, the latest Dead by Daylight crossover Chapter also introduces a new Survivor. This time around, the horror game's roster of characters has expanded to include bard Aestri Yazar, an elf bard. Aestri also comes with a counterpart in the form of Baermar Uraz, a human bard who has access to the same skills. Those include Still Sight, a passive ability that activates when staying still for a while, revealing the Killer's aura, as well as any nearby chests and generators. Meanwhile, Bardic Inspiration provides a temporary skill-check boost to all party members. The exact strength of its buff is determined by a 20-sided dice roll, keeping in line with the Dungeons and Dragons ruleset. Finally, the two bards can cast the Mirrored Illusion spell next to chests, generators, totems, and exit gates, in order to temporarily misdirect their pursuer.

Chapter 32 also debuts a new map called Forgotten Ruins. The Dungeons and Dragons-themed update marks the start of Dead by Daylight's Year 9 roadmap, which includes a handful of additional Chapters and events planned to be released in stages by April 2025.
