With the Roots of Dread chapter, Dead by Daylight has introduced the world to the horrifying original Killer called the Dredge. A manifestation of the negative thoughts and feelings of an entire town, the Dredge is a twisted creature of pure darkness.

Though Dead by Daylight already has several teleporting Killers, the Dredge is unique, capable of traveling through lockers, warping back to his Remnant, and plunging the entire map into darkness with Nightfall. With this complex suite of abilities, it can be hard to know exactly what compliments his powers. Here are fantastic perks to complement the Dredge's terrifying strengths.

10 Hex: No One Escapes Death

There is probably no Killer perk more notorious than Hex: No One Escapes Death (NOED for short). Activating on a dull totem when the final generator is completed, NOED afflicts every Survivor with the Exposed Status Effect, leaving them vulnerable to one-hit downs. It also grants the Killer a 4% speed boost, which in itself can be a huge asset.

NOED is powerful on the Dredge due to the Killer's massive mobility, particularly during Nightfall. With NOED, he can down a Survivor at one exit gate and then teleport to the other gate to down another, keeping the entire map in his clutches.

9 Sloppy Butcher

Sloppy Butcher afflicts any Survivor struck by a Basic Attack with the Hemorrhage and Mangled Status Effects. This increases the amount that injured Survivors bleed and also makes it harder to heal.

The Dredge's power, Reign of Darkness, directly benefits from having Survivors injured, because the Darkness Meter fills more quickly for every such Survivor. Because it teleports faster and is Undetectable during Nightfall, the Dredge is at a considerable advantage when Survivors can be prevented from healing, which is exactly what Sloppy Butcher helps with.

8 No Way Out

No Way Out is one of the game's most potent end game perks, sealing both exit gate switches when a Survivor tries to open one and alerting the Killer as to which switch was touched. The Dredge is a powerful end game Killer even on large maps, thanks to his ability to teleport between lockers and thereby patrol even huge areas with ease.

No Way Out is fantastic for trapping the remaining Survivors and giving the Dredge a chance to finish them off, all but guaranteeing a 4k if there is only one Survivor left alive.

7 Save The Best For Last

The Dredge has a diverse set of powers, but none of them directly damage Survivors, unlike some other Killers. As an "M1" / Basic Attack Killer, the Dredge benefits considerably from Save the Best For Last, which reduces the cooldown after landing a successful attack.

Though the player loses tokens, and therefore speed, for hitting their Obsession, the Dredge's excellent mobility means the Killer should have little trouble finding other Survivors to kill. This lets the perk live up to its name by saving the best for last and killing the Obsession once the other Survivors are already dead.

6 Hex: Devour Hope

All Hex perks are risky as the Killer is always taking a chance that due to good Survivors or bad RNG their Hexes will be cleansed mere seconds into a match. Despite this risk, Hex: Devour Hope remains a terrifying perk, allowing the Killer to insta-down and then mori Survivors once it has met the requisite number of hooks.

Hex: Devour Hope is potent enough to grind all Survivor activity to a halt until the Hex is found and cleansed. Furthermore, with the Dredge's ability to warp back in an instant to protect its totem, Survivors may not be able to cleanse the Hex until it's too late.

5 Bitter Murmur

Whenever non-Killer players finish repairing a generator, Bitter Murmur reveals the aura of all Survivors nearby it, and when the last generator is completed, the perk reveals the aura of every Survivor in the Trial.

Given how much potential the Dredge has in end game situations, even on the largest maps, having any additional information during that time is invaluable. Bitter Murmur tells the Killer exactly which Survivors and which exit gates to prioritize, minimizing downtime between the completion of the last generator and the Dredge's defense of the exits.

4 Tinkerer

Whenever a generator is repaired to 70%, Tinkerer alerts the Killer and grants the Killer the Undetectable Status Effect. Information perks are particularly good on this Killer due to its mobility and potential for map-wide pressure, and Tinkerer is a fantastic example, allowing the Dredge to teleport over and harass Survivors before they can complete their work.

Given that it grants the Undetectable Status (which the Dredge already receives during Nightfall), the Dredge can remain stealthy for the majority of the Trial if the timing works out.

3 Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance

The combination of Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance and Dead Man's Switch was strong enough to finally replace Hex: Ruin and Hex: Undying in the Killer meta after the introduction of boon perks.

Automatically damaging the generator with the most progress whenever the Killer hooks a Survivor on one of the four Scourge Hooks, Pain Resonance performs two vital functions: it sets back repair progress on the most advanced gen, and it tells the Killer exactly where to go to interrupt the Survivors in the midst of their work. Few perks are more efficient.

2 Barbecue And Chilli

Barbecue and Chilli is beloved by Killers everywhere for the double Bloodpoints it grants. It's a staple in every Killer's arsenal if only because of how dramatically it reduces the grind.

Barbecue's other effect, revealing the location of distant Survivors whenever a Survivor is hooked, is only truly impactful on Killers with the speed to make their way over to the Survivors they just saw. The Dredge is arguably one of the best users of this perk, tracking down and destroying anyone it finds,

1 Scourge Hook: Floods Of Rage

Similar to Barbecue and Chilli, Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage reveals the aura of all other Survivors whenever a Survivor is unhooked from a Scourge hook. This perk synergizes well with several others, including Make Your Choice, the latter of which exposes the rescuing Survivor.

With this combination of perks, the Dredge knows exactly where to go to find its next victim and can down them with a single blow when it arrives. Overall, Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage may be one of the Dredge's best perks.
