Dead by Daylight includes horror franchise icons like Michael Myers, Leatherface, Pinhead, Nemesis, and Sadako, but the original Killers that BHVR has created match and sometimes even surpass them in terms of both imagery and lethality. The game's locker-dwelling Killer, the Dredge, is no exception.

The Dredge: Best Non-Teachable Build (2023)

The Dredge can be a ferocious Killer when paired with the right perks, and luckily, their versatility means they can be used with plenty of the base game perks. This build uses the Dredge's own Darkness Revealed to locate Survivors near lockers, while Jolt and Sloppy Butcher slow down the game with each successful attack until Hex: No One Escapes Death triggers in the Endgame.

  • Darkness Revealed (The Dredge) – After searching a locker, the auras of Survivors within 8 meters of any locker are revealed for 5 seconds.
  • Jolt (General Perk) – Downing a Survivor causes all generators within a 32–meter radius to lose 8% progress.
  • Sloppy Butcher (General Perk) – Basic attacks cause the Mangled and Hemorrhage status ailments, slowing down healing by 25% and regressing healing progress when left unfinished.
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death (General Perk) – After the final generator is completed, all survivors suffer from the Exposed status ailment and users gain a 4% Haste effect until the Hex Totem is cleansed.

The Dredge: Best Build (2023)

Arguably the best build to use with The Dredge in Dead by Daylight includes the anti-healing perks Sloppy Butcher and A Nurse's Calling to allow a faster buildup of his powerful Nightfall ability. Pairing these perks with Corrupt Intervention and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance will allow for greater passive slowdown throughout the trial.

  • Sloppy Butcher (General Perk) – Basic attacks cause the Mangled and Hemorrhage status ailments, slowing down healing by 25% and regressing healing progress when left unfinished.
  • A Nurse's Calling (The Nurse) – Survivors who heal within a 28–meter range will have their auras revealed.
  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist) – The Killer starts with four tokens. For each different Survivor hooked on a white Scourge Hook, lose one token and explode the generator with the most progress, causing it to lose 25% of progress.
  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) – At the start of the trial, the 3 generators furthest from the killer's starting location are blocked for 120 seconds or until the first survivor is downed.

Dead By Daylight is currently available on Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
