The newest chapter of Dead by Daylight has been released today and adds new content as well as a dramatic graphical update on all platforms. Dead by Daylight plans to release on next-gen consoles with it able to run on 4K and at 60 frames per second. In order to keep up with content and regular graphical updates, developer Behaviour Interactive has announced that Dead by Daylight will receive more regular updates moving forward.

Descend Beyond is the next chapter of Dead by Daylight and adds the DLC survivor Felix Richter and the new DLC killer, The Blight. The new killer is heavily tied into the game's lore, having been a chemist who experimented on the original killers in Dead by Daylight before turning himself into a ruthless killer.

The Blight uses his Blighted Corruption ability to dash and slam into obstacles, giving him a dangerous movement speed boost. The Blight can learn three perks that give him terrifying abilities based on pallets, generators and totems. The Blight also has a large list of add-ons that may change his playstyle, but all make him a killer that any survivor will dread facing.

Along with the DLC killer and survivor, the Descend Beyond update will improve graphics and introduce a few changes to the game. Both the Springwood and Yamaoka maps will be completely redone and interactable generators, pallets, chests and lockers will all be improved with new models and animations. While the DLC characters are very exciting, the graphical update gives fans a little taste of what Dead by Daylight will look like on next-gen. With regular graphics updates coming, it is possible Dead by Daylight may update the killer models as well as more maps before it launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The Descend Beyond chapter will also add some unique cosmetics for both Felix Richter and The Blight. Both characters have very rare skins available and Felix Richter will receive an exclusive jacket to celebrate the new chapter. The Oktoberfest Collection has also popped up in the shop and includes bright outfits for Felix, Meg, and Kate. Players cannot forget the previous Silent Hill DLC, as the new Cybill Bennett legendary set for Cheryl Mason will be available on September 25th.

The update has gone live so players can experiences the horrors of The Blight and take a look at the updated maps and the new models for interactable objects. The Descend Beyond update is the first of many that will improve graphics as Dead by Daylight evolves for the next-gen consoles release.

Dead by Daylight is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
