8 Mother's Dwelling Hidden Corner

Dead by Daylight Mother's Dwelling Corner

Dead by Daylight players who are familiar with The Huntress’ lore will know that she captured children who found themselves lost in the woods. On The Huntress’ map, Mother’s Dwelling, players can actually find the corner where she kept these children captive. In the main building, there is a hidden corner next to one of the doorways.

Players will find a collection of blankets, children’s toys, and some shackles. This secret in particular is incredibly creepy, as The Huntress lacked the necessary knowledge on how to look after the children she captured, and forgot to feed them.

7 Freddy's Altar

Dead by Daylight Badham Preschool Altar

In the school basement of any of the Badham Preschool maps, players will be able to locate a secret room. In the room with the mattress, players should notice a boarded-up hole in the wall. Behind this hole is an incredibly creepy altar.

The altar features a collection of candles and skulls, but the most disturbing part of it is the children’s drawing. The drawing features a child with a crying adult. It appears this is where Freddy stored the drawings the children would make before he got taken away by The Entity.

6 The Garden of Joy's Fireplace

Dead by Daylight Garden of Joy Fireplace

The Garden Of Joy is a deeply disturbing map and is home to a dark history. After being corrupted by The Entity, the town was warped into the location that players will find themselves in throughout their Dead by Daylight matches.

The map’s main building has a particularly creepy secret relating to the twisted history of the map. If players listen closely to the fireplace in the house, they’ll be able to hear crying and shrieking. These are likely the cries of the community that used to live here.

5 Midwich's Secret Room

Dead by Daylight Clock Tower Midwich

There is a hidden room in the Clock Tower that Dead by Daylight players can unlock by completing certain actions while on the Midwich Elementary School map. To unlock the secret room, players must complete two certain Generators in the correct order, then open the Exit Gates to trigger the Endgame Collapse.

First, players must complete the Generator in the Chemistry Lab, which can be identified by the periodic table poster on the wall. Next, they must complete the Generator in the Music Room. This can be identified by the piano in the middle of the room. Once the Endgame Collapse has been triggered, the door of the Clock Tower will disappear. Here, players will find a small, glowing room with a searchable Chest.

4 The Pig's Mask Collection

Dead by Daylight The Game Pig Masks

Dead by Daylight players exploring the Gideon Meat Plant can find a reference to the map's Killer, The Pig. In one of the corners of the surveillance room, players can find a shelf decorated with pig heads. One of these pig heads is the same one The Pig uses as her main mask. This likely is where she keeps her masks between matches.

There's also a bed in the next section of the room, suggesting this area is where she now resides. This map also features various references to the traps from the Saw movies, such as the Freezer Room and Pig Vat.

3 Midwich - Silent Hill References

Dead by Daylight Midwich Bathroom

The Silent Hill map, Midwich Elementary School, in Dead by Daylight is home to plenty of references to the game. One of these references is the crying girl in the bathroom. If players head into the Girl's Bathroom and stand next to the final stall in the room, they should be able to hear a girl weeping.

In the Locker Room, if the player walks past a certain locker, a body will fall out and jumpscare them. These are both references to the original Silent Hill game, where both of these things happen.

2 The Huntress' Family

Dead by Daylight Mother's Dwelling The Huntress' Family Portrait

Keen-eyed players can spot a portrait of The Huntress' family in her lodge on Mother's Dwelling. In The Huntress' lore, she no longer has parents and is left on her own to survive. Through this portrait, players can get a glimpse at what The Huntress' life was presumably like before her mother was killed while hunting an elk.

The portrait also reveals what The Huntress looked like when she was younger. It can be found above the table in the center of the lodge.

1 Golden Toolboxes

Dead by Daylight The Game Golden Toolbox Location

The Golden Toolbox is a fun Easter Egg included on most maps in Dead by Daylight. Each Golden Toolbox is purposefully put in an inaccessible location, and simply just serves as an item for dedicated players to hunt down. The Toolboxes are often well hidden and are sometimes only visible for a certain amount of time in each match. Some Toolboxes are so well hidden, that they have yet to be found.

For example, there is a Golden Toolbox hidden underneath Amanda's bed on The Game, and underneath The Clown's Caravan on Father Campbell's Chapel.

Dead by Daylight is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
