The Xenomorph comes to Dead by Daylight with a suite of add-ons that enhance its power in a variety of ways. By helping to reduce power damage from Flamethrowers and punish Survivors who stun them, the Xenomorph can become an even stronger foe to face in The Fog.

The Xenomorph has a rather balanced set of add-ons that generally increase in strength with rarity; however, some are much stronger than others. Players hoping to master the Xenomorph and its abilities in Dead by Daylight will first need to familiarize themselves with how the best add-ons work.

Cereal Rations

A common yet reliable add-on, the Xenomorph’s Cereal Rations allows the Killer to see the aura of turrets while in tunnels and for three seconds after they exit. This add-on essentially acts as an extra information perk, providing the Xenomorph with much-needed knowledge of turret placements.

As turrets are most commonly placed near generators that are being worked on, this add-on generates a lot of value and allows the Killer to keep track of where pressure needs to be applied to slow the opposition's progress. It also helps to know turret locations so the Xenomorph can perform a pre-emptive strike to destroy them. This add-on pairs well with the Ripley’s Watch add-on, which automatically destroys any turrets that remove Crawler Mode.

Kane’s Helmet

This rare quality add-on gives the Xenomorph one of the effects of the perk “Sloppy Butcher,” the ability to Mangle a target struck by a tail attack. This Mangled effect slows down healing speed by 25%, effectively replacing Sloppy Butcher in a build.

This add-on can be used to great effect to slow down healing and synergizes well with perks that affect healing, also. The “Multipurpose Hatchet” add-on works well with Kane’s Helmet, as it causes a Hemorrhage effect, which regresses healing progress when healing is interrupted. Nevertheless, these effects can be efficiently countered with a well-placed Boon.

Self-Destruct Bolt

While Tail Striking over windows should be a higher priority for Xenomorph players, it never hurts to surprise Survivors with faster vault speeds. The very rare Self-Destruct Bolt add-on increases the Xenomorph’s vault speed by 30% in Crawler Mode.

This add-on can surprise inattentive Survivors who greed window vaults, punishing them and likely resulting in an attack or two. This add-on excels with other perks that increase vault speed, like Bamboozle or Superior Anatomy.

Harpoon Gun

The weapon that launched the Xenomorph into the cold vacuum of space and into the Entity’s realm, the very rare Harpoon Gun gives a fantastic buff to the alien as it exits tunnels. When crawling out of a Control Station, hitting a Survivor within 10 seconds will cause all Survivors further than 24 meters away to scream and reveal their locations.

While providing incredibly useful information, this perk truly shines when paired with complimentary perks that punish screaming Survivors, like Dead Man’s Switch, which will force them off any generator they’re working on, or any Hex Totems whose cleansing will be interrupted.

Acidic Blood

Similarly to the Harpoon Gun, the ultra-rare Acidic Blood add-on buffs the Xenomorph significantly as it exits a tunnel. When crawling out of a Control Station, any Survivor that stuns the Xenomorph with a pallet within the next 20 seconds will take damage. If the Survivor is already injured, then they will be placed in a Deep Wound state.

This powerful add-on can help counter one of the most effective means of slowing down the Xenomorph, and while many Survivors will pre-drop pallets against the Killer, it punishes those who heavily rely on pallet stuns. This add-on can work wonders with other perks that affect stuns, such as Enduring, Spirit Fury, and Hubris.

Improvised Cattle Prod

Much like the Cereal Rations, this ultra-rare add-on provides the Xenomorph with information. Where this add-on differs, however, is in its complexity. Whenever a generator is completed, the Improvised Cattle Prod shows the aura of Survivors within 10 meters of a Control Station for 15 seconds.

As Control Stations are typically placed near generators, this add-on gives the Xenomorph map-wide information, giving it knowledge of where to strike next. The Improvised Cattle Prod add-on works in tandem with the Semiotic Keyboard add-on, which changes the intensity of generator auras within 16 meters of a Remote Flame Turret, depending on how much repair progress has been made.

Dead by Daylight is available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
