In Dead by Daylight, Survivors have many means of quickly healing themselves, from powerful Medkits to Mikaela Reid’s Boon: Circle of Healing. While most Killers have to run perks like Sloppy Butcher and Franklin’s Demise to counter this healing, The Plague stands out as a Killer with built-in anti-healing, making her one of the more oppressive Killers in Dead by Daylight.

With pressure on Survivors already present, The Plague only needs a few perks to ensure she keeps her trials under control. This guide will highlight the best builds to run on The Plague, covering teachable and non-teachable perks for players of varied experience.

The Plague has some of the most effective base kit perks available for purchase, allowing her to slow down generators at the beginning of the game, drawing people into her web of infected generators. This build aims to oppress Survivors by cutting off their resources and valuable Exhaustion perks.

  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague) – At the start of the trial, the three generators furthest from the killer's starting location are blocked for 120 seconds or until the first survivor is downed.
  • Fearmonger (General Perk) – Any Survivor working on a generator is inflicted with the Blindness and Exhausted status ailments. These effects linger for 5 seconds after stopping repairs.
  • Claustrophobia (General Perk) – After a generator is completed, all vault locations are blocked for 30 seconds.
  • Bitter Murmur (General Perk) – Each time a generator is completed, the auras of Survivors within 16 meters of that generator are revealed for 5 seconds. Once the last generator is complete, all Survivors’ auras are revealed for 10 seconds.

With pressure on Survivor health states already established, The Plague thrives by pressuring generators with regression perks paired with her Vile Purge. This build uses perks like Call of Brine and Tinkerer to keep tabs on the most progressed generators, while The Xenomorph's Ultimate Weapon gives The Plague more time in the endgame to secure a kill.

  • Ultimate Weapon (The Xenomorph) – After opening a locker, any Survivor that enters the Terror Radius screams and gains the Blindness ailment for 30 seconds. This perk has a 30-second cooldown.
  • Pop Goes the Weasel (The Clown) – After hooking a Survivor, kicking a generator in the next 45 seconds will remove 30% of its current progression.
  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance (The Artist) – The Killer starts with four tokens. For each different Survivor hooked on a white Scourge Hook, lose one token and explode the generator with the most progress, causing it to lose 25% of progress.
  • Eruption (The Nemesis) – After kicking a generator, its aura will be highlighted in yellow. Upon downing a survivor, all highlighted generators will lose 10% progress, and any Survivors working on them will have their aura revealed for 12 seconds.

Dead by Daylight is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
