Though it's been around for almost eight years now, Dead by Daylight isn't often viewed as one of the most popular multiplayer games on the market, though it is definitely up there. Essentially popularizing the asymmetrical multiplayer genre for the horror crowd, Dead by Daylight sees a team of four Survivors go up against one Killer, paving the way for some incredibly intense cat-and-mouse gameplay. And for those still on the fence about hopping into Dead by Daylight all these years later, it might actually be the perfect time, especially for fans of Remedy's Connected Universe.

Heading to the game on January 30, Dead by Daylight is getting an Alan Wake crossover, where the titular paranatural writer will be taking on the role of one of the game's Survivors, equipped with his own uniquely-themed Perks. This upcoming Alan Wake crossover is the perfect excuse for newcomers to finally jump on board the Dead by Daylight train, and once they do, they'll quickly realize that Dead by Daylight has been at this crossover game for a while now.

The Best Dead by Daylight Crossovers So Far

Dead by Daylight's Alien Chapter Brought Two Sci-Fi Icons to the Game

One of the more recent Dead by Daylight crossovers was last August's Alien chapter. Based primarily on the original 1979 Ridley Scott movie, Dead by Daylight's Alien Chapter adds a new Killer and Survivor to the game, those being the iconic Xenomorph and Ellen Ripley respectively. While this Chapter wasn't without its controversies - mostly due to the Xenomorph being a tad overpowered on launch - it acted as the perfect sign that Dead by Daylight is far from done producing high-quality crossovers, with both playable characters being very fun to play and their included Perks shaking up the meta in an intriguing way.

Dead by Daylight's Chucky Crossover Showed Behaviour's Creativity

The most recent Dead by Daylight crossover, and arguably one of its best of all time, Child's Play's murderous doll Chucky came to the multiplayer horror game just a few months ago. Being just a few feet tall, Behaviour Interactive had to get creative with Chucky's design, subverting the usual Killer gameplay formula in a few fun little ways such as giving the player a third-person perspective and having them technically play as the ghostly spirit that controls Chucky. All good Dead by Daylight crossover DLCs provide some kind of fresh spin on the usual gameplay formula, and that's exactly what Chucky does.

Ghost Face Is Still One of Dead by Daylight's Best Killers

Over the last few years Dead by Daylight has tried to introduce a number of stealthy Killers, and while they all have their own merits, Ghost Face is undoubtedly the best to use. Not only does Ghost Face have the ability to crouch and hide behind cover, but his unique Killer Power lets him Stalk his victims from the shadow, building a meter for each second he observes them that eventually gives Survivors the Exposed status effect, allowing for a one-hit kill.

Dead by Daylight 's Ghost Face crossover is a bit different from the rest, as while Behaviour paid for the license for the character's iconic mask and costume, it didn't pay for the whole Scream license, meaning that its own version of the Killer has an original backstory.

Dead by Daylight's Resident Evil Crossovers Are Still Excellent Value for Money

In terms of sheer quantity and quality, there are few crossover DLCs that can match Dead by Daylight's two Resident Evil Chapters. The first Resident Evil x Dead by Daylight Chapter brings Nemesis to the game, along with Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine, while the second Chapter brings Albert Wesker, Ada Wong, and Rebecca Chambers to the game, all with their own unique Perks and abilities that are lovingly themed around the source material.
